On 13 January, Non-Resident Nepalese Association (NRNA JAPAN) provided Nepalese curry at Iida Prefectural High School, a shelter in Suzu City, Ishikawa Prefecture, which was heavily damaged by the Noto Peninsula earthquake. The city was extremely cold due to heavy snowfall, but the warm curry with the flavour of spices brought smiles to the faces of the affected people. Jigyan Kumar Thapa, 44, Advisor of the association, says: "We do not need a reason to help each other in times of need”.
The association started supporting the affected areas after the Great East Japan Earthquake in 2011. The association has rushed to the affected areas this time as well, hoping that the Nepalese curry will warm the body as well as the heart.
