ブルーモンキーとしての役割

「アバター」を10年ぶりに観た。
観た方も多いのではないかと思うのですが…

資源の枯渇した地球から、新たな資源を求めて地球人たちが宇宙船でパンドラ星にやってくる。
地球人は、その星でもともと暮らしてきたひとたちを、「ブルーモンキー」と呼び、彼らの暮らす大木の下に眠る鉱石を奪おうとするー。

印象に残ったのは、コミュニティに入り込もうとした地球人たちが「英語を教えたり薬を配ったりしたが効果がない」、と言う場面。
これは、リアルの世界でも往々にして起こりがちなことかもしれない。
もっとも、この映画の場合は、地球人がその目的のために現地の人々を利用しようとしての「寄付行為」だけれど、現実世界での、本当に現地のために、という目的のためからのアクションでも、この齟齬は起こりえる。

「あげる側」はよかれと思っていても、「受け取る側」がそう感じていなければ、どんなギフトも支援も意味のないものになってしまう…。
でも、だからといって、あげる側の気持ちが否定されたり、そのモノ自体が生かされないのはとても悲しいことだ。

だから僕は、僕らの仕事は、そのギャップを埋めていくこと、だと思っている。
たとえば、「小学校の校庭に遊具はいかがでしょうか」と言われたときに、「できればそれよりも先に屋根をつくってあげてもらえませんか」というようなこと。
というのも…
日本の小学校と違って、体育館を持つ学校はとっても少なく、この国の灼熱の太陽の下では子どもたちにとって日射病にならずに安全に遊べる場所が多くない、といった事情があるから。

僕は、「ブルーモンキーのひとり」として、橋渡しのできる人間になりたい、と願っている。

最後に。
一番響いたのは、「私たちは大地からエネルギーを借りて生きている」というセリフ。
このことを、現代に生きる私たちは忘れすぎてはいまいか、とあらためて感じる。
僕のこのすべてのエネルギーをかえすその日に、大地に受け入れてもらえるような生き方ができたらなあ、なんて考える。

What impressed me was the scene where the earthlings who tried to enter the community said, "I taught English and distributed medicine, but it didn't work."
This may be a common occurrence in the real world as well.
However, in the case of this movie, it is a "donation act" in which the earthlings try to use the local people for that purpose, but even in the action for the purpose of really for the local in the real world. , This discrepancy can occur.

Even if the "giving side" is happy, if the "receiving side" does not feel that way, any gift or support will be meaningless ...
However, it is very sad that the feelings of the giver are denied and that the thing itself is not utilized.

So I think our job is to fill that gap.
For example, if someone offer like, "How about playing equipment in the schoolyard of an elementary school?",
I might reply,"Would you like me to build a roof before that?"
Because ...
Unlike Japanese elementary schools, there are very few schools that have gymnasiums, and there are not many places where children can play safely without getting sun sick in the scorching sun of this country.

As a "one of the blue monkeys," I want to be a bridge between two world.

Finally.
The most reverberant line was "We live by borrowing energy from the earth."
I feel once again that we, who live in the present age, should not forget this too much.
I wish I could have a way of life that would be accepted by the earth on the day when all of my energy was returned.
