How to explore MOA Museum Of Art in Atami

I'm definitely a big fan of Japanese museums. Here in Japan,almost every touristy spots have their regional museums. Even if you're not familiar with Japanese history or art,it worths to visit and feel the cultural air. 
At this point MOA museum of art have gotten  the top quality of reputation from their collection. 

Here is the guidance for exploring! 

いまや国内の観光地なら今やどこでも美術館がありますよね。日本の歴史や美術シーンに詳しくなくても一度は訪れてみたい場所ってあると思います。
今日はその中でも熱海にあるMOA美術館の魅力をお伝えしたいと思います。

1.Ceiling Kaleidoscope
In the middle of the passage way to the main entrance,suddenly this visualized modern art appears in front of us. (For the record,we don't arrive at the entrance gate yet!) 
Even though this museum's main theme is not modern art,this is extremely astonishing. 
I know you can see this mysterious changing art all day,but....let me tell you the trueth....this facility is too huge to stop in here! It took over 4 hours for me to walk around. Let's move on!

1.万華鏡天井
美術館のメインエントランスへ向かうエレベーターホールの途中に突如現れる万華鏡アート。この美術館の主テーマは現代アートではありませんが、天井に写り変わるコントラストは圧巻です。
正直ずっと観てられる自信がありますが(笑)、先に進みましょう。ちなみに私はこの美術館を観て回るのに4時間かかりました。

2.The Entrance
After taking long long long ride of escalators,we finally reach the top of the hill. And in here we can see the entire Sagami Sea. If you're a budget limited traveler who can't afford to stay 5 stars hotel which have fancy balcony in front of the sea (like me),you can't miss the chance to see this scenery. 
Atami doesn't have many tall buildings where we can enjoy alloverall scenery so it must be the privileged position. 

2.正面入り口
長い長いエスカレーターの旅を終わると相模灘を見渡せる丘の上に到着します。バルコニー付きの海が見える高級ホテルに泊まる予定がなければ、この景色は絶対に見逃せません。
熱海は背の高い建物があまりないので、こうした景色を見られる場所はとても貴重なはずです。

3.The Art
Mainly the MOA museum feture Japanese traditional painting called ukiyoe whose collection includes the most famous big names in Japan during Edo period such as Hokusai Katsushika and Utamaro Kitagawa. However it depends on the timing when you visit because their special exhibition is changeable. 
Personally I like the local themed picture art like above. These pictures were taken in Atami,but it says the opposite imagine from mine. Quiet,cold and poetic. 

3.アート
MOA美術館は江戸期の浮世絵のコレクションが多い印象でした。中でも葛飾北斎や喜多川歌麿といった日本を代表する絵師の所蔵は日本でも稀ではないでしょうか。もしかしたら特別展の内容によって展示物は変わるのかもしれません。それも一つの楽しみですね。
ちなみに少しですが、現代の写真展示もあります。作家によって熱海の海の印象が随分異なることが面白いです。

4.Museum cafes
Some people may take a museum cafe as an ordinary boring cafeteria thing though you need to update your imagine by coming here. They have 3 fashionable cafes and 2 super gorgeous Japanese restaurants. 
Especially for lunch,they would be one of the best choice around Atami area since there's not so many high-class ones in this neighbor. According to my quick search,price range for lunch is 1500 to 2500 yen + seasonal Japanese garden view for free! 

4.ミュージアムカフェ
付属品と思われがちなミュージアムカフェですが、かなりここは充実しています。3つのレストランと2つのカフェがあり熱海駅付近の飲食店よりもかなり質が高いです。ランチの価格帯も1500円から2500円くらいなので特別なシーンでも利用できそうです。

I know Atami is not the typical travel destination for foreign travelers yet. But I bet the time will come very soon!
