How has American Studies developed over time in the US? How about in Japan? What are the roles of American Studies scholars in Japan? (250 words or so in English)

Basically American Studies has been said that it will be affected from the US society at that time. Depends on the US situation and culture, many researchers has studied the American with consideration of that. America has been trying to be a leader of the world and made spreading their culture into the world as well. On the process of that, the world also has been affected by the US power. After that American Studies has been changed by themselves. Now the time American Studies are sifting and modifying the previous one. It is facing on crisis of American Studies because of the world changed and multicultural system are undergoing nowadays. The way of study also changes the same reason.
In Japan case, Japan always has followed the US study. They are nothing special studies, but the view from Japan of the US were behind of the US studies that is supporting what is the US value from the US scholars.
The roles of American Studies scholars in Japan need to think and study carefully about what America is, not America was or has been. And also Japan and the US relations are not simple, can be said, and complicated compare with the other countries. It is also better consider of Japan’s particular view to the US. The US are fed up with general studies and commonplace way of studies. That view from Japan, for sure, helps and makes motivate the US scholars as well.
