落款印の印影を楽しむ。 Enjoy the imprint of the seal.

落款印をもつ人はそう多くはないと思う。通常は書画や詩文をたしなむ方々にとって落款印は署名押捺の大切な道具のひとつであるが、一般には実印や普通印があればそれで事はなす。

I don't think there are many people who have a seal. Normally, the seal stamp is one of the important tools for signing and imprinting for people who enjoy calligraphy and poetry, but in general, if there is a real seal or ordinary seal, it will do the job.

昨秋に、仏画曼荼羅アート教室に通われる方たちを対象に、落款印の製作ワークショップを行った。最近では、皆さん制作された作品に、その時に作られた落款印を押されている。少しずつその印影を楽しんでおられる。

Last fall, we held a workshop on the production of seals for those who attend the Buddhist painting mandala art class. Recently, the stamps made at that time have been stamped on the works produced by everyone. They are enjoying the imprint little by little.

ワークショップなので自作ということもあり、午前と午後に分けて行った。教室の皆さんが各地から参集され、‪2時‬間で仕上げ持ち帰るという内容のものだった。‬

Since it was a workshop, I made it myself, so I divided it into morning and afternoon. The content was that everyone in the classroom gathered from all over the place and finished it two hours.

楽しく掘っていただくために、皆さんと一緒に篆刻とは、印章とは、書体とは、という基礎的知識を紐解くところから始まった。7種類の印章文字の中で、篆刻にはほとんど篆書体が使われている。この文字は、中国で印章字体としてよく使われていたもので、はんこ彫刻技術の物差しとして最適な書体だということなど、など。

In order to have fun digging, we started by unraveling the basic knowledge of seal carving, seals, and typefaces together with everyone. Of the seven types of seal letters, most of the seal scripts are used for seal carving. This character was often used as a seal font in China, and it is the best typeface for stamp engraving technology.

さらに、最低限の基礎知識の中で皆さんに確認したことが、「朱文」か「白文」のどちらで彫るか、ということだった。まず朱文とは写真でいうと朱印と書かれているもので実印や銀行印などに多く用いられている彫り方である。一方、白文は右側のもので、名前が浮き彫りになっている。書や水墨画等に落款としてよく押されている。

Furthermore, what I confirmed to everyone with the minimum basic knowledge was whether to carve with "red text" or "white text". First of all, red text is written as a red stamp in the photograph, and is a carving method that is often used for real stamps and bank stamps. On the other hand, the white text is on the right side, and the name is highlighted. It is often stamped as a seal on calligraphy and ink painting.

初めて体験される方ばかりなのでどのように仕上がるのかは見当がつかなかったが、出来上がりは予想を超えた落款印になった。12ミリ正方で名前一文字を彫り、仕上げは先生方にしていただいたお陰で満足いくモノができたようである。

I had no idea how it would be finished because it was only for those who experienced it for the first time, but the result was a seal that exceeded expectations. They carved one letter of the name in a 12 mm square, and thanks to the teachers for finishing it, it seems that I was satisfied with the product.
