僕は自転車で旅をする　1

〈あらすじ〉

　ハンディキャップのある少年コウタは、人に喜んでもらいたい、と自分の思いつきで奮闘するが、想いは届かず、空回りするばかり。
　めげながらも気を取り直して、不審者が出没しているという情報に、コウタは妹の下校こっそりを見守りたいと考える。
　結局それもうまくいかず、大好きな妹には徹底的に嫌われる。
　それでも得意な絵で不審者注意の喚起をしようと、黙々とポスターを作り、真夜中に家を抜け出してこっそりポスターを貼りに出かける。それを家出、自殺と不安になった両親が知り合いのお巡りさんとコウタを探す。今回もうまくいかなかったコウタだが、その行動に心を動かされたようで、妹が少し歩み寄ってくれた。

　僕の中のクリアなぼくが物語る。

　赤ちゃんの頃の記憶はない。中には、生まれた時からの記憶があると言う稀有な人もいるみたいだけれど、僕はそうじゃない。でも、僕の赤ちゃんの時に、父が僕をものすごく可愛がってくれた、というのは、父以外のいろんな人から聞かされて知っている。

　母は、パパに助けられた、と、言う。パパと、僕に助けられた。そうじゃなかったら、母は鬼になってしまうところだったと。
