本日はIELTSライティング①円グラフ問題について、IELTS講師にライティングを添削していただきました。

質問
The three pie charts below show the changes in annual spending by a particular UK school in 1981,1991 and 2001.

下の3つの円グラフは、1981年、1991年、2001年における英国のある学校の年間支出額の変化を示している。

The provided three pie charts illustrate the percentage breakdowns of total school spending in three different years ,1981, 1991 and 2001.

提供された3つの円グラフは、1981年、1991年、2001年の3つの異なる年における学校支出総額の割合を示している。

概要
Looking at the over view, it can be clearly seen that there are considerable differences among the three pie charts in terms of insurance, other workers’ salaries, resources and furniture and equipment. However, the total school spending for teachers’s salaries consistently takes up the biggest part in three years.

俯瞰してみると、保険、その他の労働者の給与、資源、家具・備品については、3つの円グラフの間にかなりの違いがあることがよくわかる。しかし、教員給与が最も大きな割合を占めている。

詳細
To describe more specifically, in the first data in 1981, teacher’s salaries captures the majority share which accounts for 40%, followed by other worker’s salaries accounting for 28%. The resources and  furniture and equipment both take up 15% while insurance accounts for mere 2 %.

具体的には、1981年の最初のデータでは、教員給与が40％と大半を占め、次いでその他の職員給与が28％となっている。資源費と什器備品がともに15％を占め、保険はわずか2％である。

Looking at the data of 1991, it follows similar trend with that of 1981. Teachers’s salaries takes up the half of entire share of the school expenditure. The second largest spending is other workers’ salaries accounting for 22% and 20% is taken up by resources. The rest of the spending such as furniture and equipment and insurance make up only 5% and 3% each.

1991年のデータを見ると、1981年と同様の傾向が見られる。教員の給与が学校支出全体の半分を占めている。2番目に多いのはその他の労働者の給与で22％、20％が資料費である。家具・備品、保険などその他の支出はそれぞれ5％、3％に過ぎない。

Finally, regarding the data in 2001,  teacher’s salaries contribute to 45% of total spending.
Twenty-three percent are taken up by furniture and equipment and 15% is spent for other workers’ salaries . Resources and insurance constitute 9% and 8% each.

最後に、2001年のデータであるが、教員給与が支出全体の45％を占めている。
家具と設備が23％、その他の労働者の給与が15％である。資源が9％、保険が8％である。
