The graph below shows average carbon dioxide(CO2) emissions per person in the United Kingdom, Sweden, Italy and Portugal between 1967 and 2007.

Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

下のグラフは、1967年から2007年までのイギリス、スウェーデン、イタリア、ポルトガルの1人当たりの平均二酸化炭素（CO2）排出量を示している。

主な特徴を選んで報告することにより情報を要約し、関連する場合には比較を行いなさい。

イントロダクション
The provided line graph illustrates the changes in average carbon dioxide emissions per person at a ten-year intervals between 1967 and 2007 in four different European countries(nations), namely the United Kingdom, Sweden, Italy and Portugal.

この折れ線グラフは、イギリス、スウェーデン、イタリア、ポルトガルのヨーロッパ4カ国における、1967年から2007年までの10年間の一人当たりの平均二酸化炭素排出量の変化を示している。

概要
Overall, it is obvious that the quantities of CO2 emissions in Italy and Portugal showed an upward trend, whereas, that of CO2 emissions in the United Kingdom and Sweden showed a downward trend during the 40-year period.

全体として、イタリアとポルトガルのCO2排出量は増加傾向にあるのに対し、イギリスとスウェーデンのCO2排出量は40年間で減少傾向にあることがわかる。

More specifically, the quantities of carbon emissions in the United Kingdom was the largest of the four other countries and stood at around 11 metric tonnes in 1967, after which it continued to decline gradually until 2007 at approximately 9 metric tonnes.
It remained number one contributor to CO2 emissions among other countries.

具体的には、イギリスの炭素排出量は他の4カ国の中で最も多く、1967年には約11トンだったが、その後徐々に減少を続け、2007年には約9トンとなった。
英国は、他の4カ国の中でCO2排出量第1位を維持している。

Carbon dioxide emissions in Sweden started at nearly 9 metric tonnes and has seen an increase in 1977, reaching the highest point at almost 10 metric tonnes. It then took a sharp fall until 1987 and then continued to gradually decline for the next  20 years, finally reaching at lowest point at around  5 metric tonnes, the same amount as Portugal’s highest CO2 emissions.

スウェーデンの二酸化炭素排出量は、ほぼ9トンから始まり、1977年に増加し、ほぼ10トンで最高点に達した。その後、1987年まで急激に減少し、その後20年間は徐々に減少を続け、最終的にはポルトガルの二酸化炭素排出量の最高値と同量の約5トンで最低を記録した。

Unlike UK and Sweden, Italy and Portugal have continued to emit CO2 constantly during the period from 1967 to 2007. Italy and Portugal started at around 1 and 4 metric tonnes respectively and have an increasing tendency to (by) around 5 and nearly 8 metric tonnes.
Italy overtook Sweden in 1987 and Portugal reached at the same amount of CO2 emissions in Sweden in 2007.

英国やスウェーデンとは異なり、イタリアとポルトガルは1967年から2007年の間、常にCO2を排出し続けている。イタリアは約1トン、ポルトガルは約4トンから始まり、約5トン、約8トンと増加傾向にある。
イタリアは1987年にスウェーデンを追い抜き、ポルトガルは2007年にスウェーデンと同じCO2排出量に達した。
