本日はIELTSライティング①線グラフ問題について、IELTS講師にライティングを添削していただきました。 こちらはバーチャートですが、実質的には線グラフの場合と解き方はほとんど変わりません。

The chart below shows the percentage of households in owned and rented accommodation in England and Wales between 1918 and 2011.
Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

下のグラフは、1918年から2011年までのイングランドとウェールズにおける、持ち家と借家の世帯の割合を示している。
主な特徴を選んで報告することにより情報を要約し、関連する場合は比較を行う。

Looking at the overview, it can be clearly seen that the proportion of households in owned accommodation showed an upward trend, whereas that of households in rented accommodation has seen a reduction over the period from 1918 to 2011.

概観すると、1918年から2011年にかけて、持ち家世帯の割合が増加傾向にあるのに対し、借家世帯の割合は減少している。

To describe more specifically, the proportion of households renting accommodation peaked at around 75 % in 1918, after which its figure saw a gradual decline until it hit the lowest point at around 30% in 2001. After that, it returned to growth to around 35% in 2011.

具体的に説明すると、賃貸世帯の割合は1918年の約75％をピークに徐々に減少し、2001年には約30％と最低を記録した。その後、2011年には35％前後まで回復した。

In contrast, the proportion of households in owned accommodation was recorded at roughly 20% and saw a period of growth until 2001, when it hit the highest point at around 69%. It was followed by a slight decline to around 65% in 2011.

対照的に、持ち家世帯の割合は約20％で、2001年まで増加の一途をたどり、最高値の約69％を記録した。その後、2011年には約65％へとわずかに減少した。

What particularly stands out is that comparing the rates of two households, they are inversely proportional to each other.
Though the years, as the renting accommodation decreased, the owned accommodation increased.
Furthermore, both household rate equaled in 1971 at 50%.

特に目立つのは、2世帯の割合を比較すると、反比例していることだ。
年を追うごとに、賃貸住宅が減少し、持ち家が増加している。
さらに、1971年には両世帯の割合は50％で等しくなっている。
