本日はIELTSライティング①線グラフ問題について、IELTS講師にライティングを添削していただきました。

The line graph shows the proportion of spending on health in four countries from 2001 to 2017 in billions of pounds.

折れ線グラフは、2001年から2017年までの4カ国の保健医療支出の割合を10億ポンド単位で示したものである。

イントロダクション
The provided line graph illustrates the changes in the proportion of health expense at two-year intervals between 2001 and 2017 in four different countries, namely Turkey, Japan, New Zealand and Iceland.

提供された折れ線グラフは、トルコ、日本、ニュージーランド、アイスランドの4カ国における2001年から2017年までの2年間隔の医療費割合の変化を示している。

概要
Looking at the overview, it can be clearly seen that Japan and New Zealand have seen an upward trend, whereas Iceland shows a downward trend during the 16-year period.
Turkey has an increasing tendency until 2009 followed by a gradual decline afterwards.

概観すると、日本とニュージーランドは増加傾向にあるのに対し、アイスランドは16年間で減少傾向を示している。
トルコは2009年まで増加傾向にあり、その後は緩やかに減少している。

To describe more specifically, both Japan and New Zealand started at around 16% and 13% respectively in 2001 and continued to slightly increase by around 1% until 2009.
After that, both of them rose sharply by almost 4% in 2011. Both countries then have seen a steady increase for the next 6 years and reached their highest point at 24% for Japan and 18% for New Zealand.

具体的に説明すると、日本は2001年に約16％、ニュージーランドは13％でスタートし、2009年までは1％前後の微増が続いた。
その後、2011年に両国とも4％近く急上昇した。その後6年間は右肩上がりで、日本は24％、ニュージーランドは18％と最高を記録している。

In contrast, the percentage of health expense in Iceland was the highest of the four countries in 2001 and has remained unchanged until 2005.
However,  it then dropped from around 17% to 15% in 2019 and stagnated until 2017, ranking number 3 among the four countries.

一方、アイスランドの医療費割合は2001年に4カ国の中で最も高く、2005年まで横ばいだった。
しかし、その後約17％から2019年には15％に低下し、2017年まで停滞し、4カ国中3位となった。

Lastly, the share of spending on health in Turkey started at around 7 % and has experienced a gradual increase in 2009, when it hit the peak at more than 12%.
It was then followed by a slight reduction of around 1% and continued to go down for the next 6 years, placing last among the four countries at 10 % in 2017.

最後に、トルコの医療費に占める割合は約7%から始まり、2009年には12%以上とピークに達した。
その後、1%前後のわずかな減少が続き、その後6年間は減少を続け、2017年には10%で4カ国中最下位となった。
