HLAB サマースクール Daily Report ~OBUSE 2021~

HLAB サマースクール 2021が終わり早くも半年が経ちました。
8月13日から8月20日にかけて行われたHLABサマースクール 2021には、約230名の高校生が参加してくれました。オンラインやハイブリッドなど様々な形態で開催されたサマースクール。
それぞれの地域の一日の様子をnoteにて地域ごとにまとめてみました。

【HLAB Summer School Daily Report Vol.1】　

本日より、HLAB サマースクール 2021（HLAB OBUSE）が始まりました。今年はこれまでサマースクールを開催してきた、東京・長野県小布施町・徳島県牟岐町・宮城県女川町のほか、新たに群馬県中之条町を加え、全国5地域を舞台とするサマースクールを展開しました。オンラインで行われた開会式では、高校生代表や委員長が気持ちのこもったスピーチをし、長野県や小布施町の関係者の皆様からもお言葉をもらいました。開会式終了後は、緊張をほぐすためのアイスブレイクや小布施について知るための「ワークショップ」、メンターと自由に話し合う「フリーインタラクション」、また一日を振り返る「リフレクション」を行いました。「小布施ワークショップ」では、Google Mapsを用いて小布施町を散策したり謎解きゲームに挑戦したりし、ハウス同士協力し合うことで信頼を築く企画となりました。参加者もメンターも小布施町についてより知識を深めることができました。

The HLAB Summer School 2021 (HLAB OBUSE) started today. At the opening ceremony, held online, participant representatives and committee chairs gave heartfelt speeches. We also received encouraging words from the sponsors from Nagano Prefecture and Obuse Town. After the opening ceremony, we had an ice breaker, a workshop to learn about Obuse Town, free interaction between the mentors and participants, and reflection at the end of the day. In the Obuse workshop, we explored the Obuse Town using Google maps and played a puzzle solving game. It was a project to build trust by cooperating with other houses. Both participants and mentors were able to deepen their knowledge of Obuse Town.

2日目は海外にルーツのあるメンターが主体となり、少人数で英語を使って実施する「セミナー」から始まりました。普段の学校生活では中々触れる機会の少ないテーマについて学び、自身の視点を広げる濃い時間となりました。昼食後は自分を深く知るための「自己分析ワークショップ」、社会人ゲストの方と自由に話し合う「社会人フリーインタラクション」を実施し、最後は「リフレクション」で1日を振り返りました。「自己分析ワークショップ」では自分の好きなものを詰め込んだ「偏愛マップ」を作成・共有したことで他人との共通点や違いに向き合うきっかけとなりました。その後の「社会人フリーインタラクション」では、参加者のみならずメンターも積極的に興味のあることを質問し、互いに刺激し合いながら自身の学びをより深められる濃密な時間となりました。

The second day began with a Seminar mainly created by Mentors with overseas roots. Participants learned about themes they rarely have the opportunities to learn about and broaden their perspectives. After lunch, we had a workshop to learn more about ourselves, free interaction to talk freely with working adults, and reflection to review the day. In the workshop, we drew a map filled with our interests, or things we love and shared it. Through this project, we were able to realize commonalities and differences between others and ourselves once again. Participants and mentors deepened their learning by actively asking questions related to their interests during the free interaction session.

3日目も、2日目同様「セミナー」から始まりました。セミナー初日は英語に苦労する参加者の声も多くありましたが、その悔しさから、より積極的に発言をしようとする意思が見られ、参加者の成長を感じました。昼食後は、自転車で世界一周旅をされた小口良平様をゲストにお呼びした「フォーラム」、メンターが関わらない唯一の企画「高校生フリーインタラクション」、そして1日の最後の「リフレクション」で振り返りをしました。フォーラムでは、滅多に聞くことのできない世界中のお話や旅を通して学んだことを聞き、積極的に質問をしたことで新しい価値観を知りました。高校生フリーインタラクションでは参加者が話したいことやそれぞれの価値観を共有し、新たな出会いや学びが生まれる貴重な時間となりました。

The third day of the summer school (HLAB OBUSE) started with a seminar as well as the second day. Many participants struggled on the first day of the seminar which was conducted in English. They tried to share their ideas with the seminar partners’ support. After lunch, we had a Forum by Ryohei Oguchi, who travelled around the world by bicycle. free interaction to talk freely among participants without mentors, and a reflection session to review the day. At the forum, we learned about experiences or life lessons that Ryohei gained through the trip.

【HLAB Summer School Daily Report Vol.4】

4日目も前日と同様「セミナー」から始まりました。サマースクール中のセミナーは本日が最終日でした。セミナー初日、2日目では英語や、初めて触れる学問の内容の難しさに多少苦労する場面も見られましたが、積極的に発言する姿も見られました。また本日はセミナー以外の時間に、セミナーを担当するGlobal-side mentorと話せる時間も設けられ、質問をしたり交流する姿も見られました。午後には「小布施ワークショップ」と題しまして穀平味噌醸造場（こくへいみそじょうぞうじょう）様と味噌作りを行いました。味噌作りのお話や、昔の小布施のお話をしていただき、味噌づくりを通して小布施の歴史に触れることができました。また毎晩行われるハウスごとの「リフレクション」も本日が最終日でした。サマースクール全体の振り返りや、将来の夢などを語り合い有意義な時間となりました。

The fourth day of summer school (HLAB OBUSE) started with a seminar as well as the third day. Today was the last day of seminars during the summer school. On the first and second day of the seminar, some students struggled communicating in English and the difficulty of the academic content they were exposed to for the first time, but they actively spoke up today. They also had time to talk with the global-side mentors who taught the seminar, and asked questions and interacted with them. In the afternoon, we had an OBUSE workshop with Kokuhei Miso Jozojo which is a traditional Miso factory in OBUSE. They walked through procedures of making miso, told stories about the history of OBUSE, and we were able to experience the history of Obuse through making miso. Today was also the last day of the reflections for each house. It was a meaningful time to reflect on the summer school as a whole, and talked about dreams for the future.

【HLAB Summer School Daily Report Vol.5】

本日は、サマースクール最終日でした。午前中の「自己分析ワークショップ未来編」で、自分の夢を叶えるための第一歩を宣言した後、午後には参加者やメンターがざっくばらんに会話を楽しむ「オフィスアワー」を実施しました。その後、ハウスで過ごす最後の時間である「ファイナルハウスタイム」を経た後、閉会式と授与式が実施されました。閉会式では、参加者代表が５日間を通して学んだことを語ってくれたり、運営委員長、副委員長が熱い言葉を届けてくれたりしました。その後の授与式では、メンターや参加者が伝えるメッセージに感動し、涙を流して別れを惜しみました。授与式に参加する参加者の表情からは、充実感と成長がひしひしと感じられました。8月13日(金）から始まったHLABサマースクール2021（HLAB OBUSE)は、たくさんの方々のご協力により、本日無事に終了することが出来ました。

It was the last day of Summer School(HLAB OBUSE) today. After declaring the first step towards achieving our dreams through a self-analysis workshop, we conducted office hours to talk freely with mentors and participants. After that, we took final HOUSE time to interact with house members, and the closing ceremony and prize-awarding ceremony were conducted. At the closing ceremony, participants' representatives gave a speech on what they learned through summer school, and also both chairman and vice-chairman gave impressive speeches. At the prize-awarding ceremony, most of the mentors and participants were impressed with the messages we gave each other and even started to cry. We were able to feel participants’ fulfillment and grow through summer school from their facial expression. HLAB Summer School 2021 ( HLAB OBUSE) started from 8/13 has finished today thanks to everyone’s cooperation.
