【歌詞・和訳⑰】StarRingChild (English ver.) / SawanoHiroyuki[nZk]:Aimer

みなさんこんにちは。Hiruと申します。記事をご覧いただき、ありがとうございます。歌詞・和訳シリーズ第17回となる今回は、「StarRingChild(English ver.) / SawanoHiroyuki[nZk]:Aimer」の和訳に挑戦していきます。よろしくおねがいします！

◆楽曲『StarRingChild(English ver.)』について

　「StarRingChild」は、2014年に劇場公開・OVA化された『機動戦士ガンダムUC Episode 7 虹の彼方に』の主題歌で、このEnglish ver.は、同年に発売されたSawanoHiroyuki[nZk]:Aimer名義のアルバム『Unchild』に収録されている楽曲です。このアルバムに収録されている『Next 2 U』もこのnoteで和訳記事を書いておりますので、ご覧下さい！

　歌詞の内容という観点で見てみると、日本語ver.の作詞は澤野さんご本人ということで、楽曲の響きにあった日本語をチョイスされていらっしゃるのではないかと思っています。それでも、「Star」「Ring」「Child」の３要素が歌詞の中に散りばめられていて、ガンダムUCの主題歌としても歌詞がすっと理解できるような素敵な歌詞です。
　このEnglish ver.では、原曲の歌詞の一部を踏襲しつつも、機動戦士ガンダムUCとリンクするような内容となっているのではないかと感じます。English ver.の作詞はcAnON.(かのん)さんです。cAnON.さんは、澤野さん作品にも
作詞として多く参加していて、「VV-ALK」「mio MARE」「song of...」などもcAnON.さんの作詞です。本当に素敵な歌詞で、これからも澤野さん作品でも、cAnON.さんが作詞された楽曲に触れられるのを楽しみにしたいと思います。

物語は続いていく

1番終わりまで訳していきました！日本語版の歌詞とは大きく違っていて、良いですね。内容で言うと、
　「They ought to try  ... like as she has been done」のsheは恐らく
地球のことを指しているのではないかと思います。rewriteできるようなsheが歌詞内で登場していないのと、そんな超能力を持つ人は宇宙世紀にもいないと思うので、代名詞sheで表現された地球のことかな？というところです。船とか自然とかが代名詞sheで表現されるようなやつですね。それでは続きです。

　２番のサビ前まで、訳していきました。BメロはガンダムUCに登場するキャラクターであるリディ少尉っぽい内容だなと感じました。お家のことでも、女性のことでも色々と振り回されて大変だったリディ少尉の苦労がにじみ出るような内容ですね。
「… footsteps and rhythm」は原曲でも「（弱さを忘れた）足音リズム」と全く同じところで歌っているので、原曲再現がされているところです。
　
ここ以外にも、「When the sun … wraple us」の「wraple us」はそもそも「wraple」という英単語が(多分)無いので、澤野さんが作詞される日本語歌詞のように、音の響きが大事にされた部分なのではないかと思っていて、
元々「wrap us」だったのが「wraple us」とスペルされ、「ラプラス」(Laplace) と聞き取れるようにしているのではないでしょうか。
「ラプラス」といえば、機動戦士ガンダムUCで出てくるあの場所であり、
物語のキーとも言える場所でもあります。こういう所を探してみるのも面白いですね。
サビ前の静かなタイミングで「ラプラス」と聞くと、ガンダムUCのサントラに収録されている楽曲「0001」を思い出します。「0001」はEp.1の改暦セレモニーのシーンで流れていた楽曲なんですが、それとマッチするような感覚を覚えます。このサビが終わると「RX-0」の曲調からガラッと変わっていきます。それでは、続きです。

「There's no meaning...」の部分は日本語歌詞の「ここに必要ないから」
に繋がり、「Everything ... in a second」が「１秒に詰めた世界」に繋がっていて、日本語版、英語版両方聞くことで、より『StarRingChild』の楽曲理解が出来るのではないかと思います。
