ツイッターは英語拾いにも最適

先月の下旬からツイッターでサイトラを始めたことは、最近三回のブログに書きましたが、私はそれ以外にも、ツイッターを英語表現を拾い集めるための場としても利用しています。

ツイッターには英語の専門家の方々が集っていますし、海外のジャーナリストや専門家の英語ツイートや海外メディアの英語記事の概要ツイートなど生きた英語が溢れているので、気になる英文や単語を拾い出すのに最適です。

私は日頃から気になる英文や単語をノートに走り書きでメモすることを習慣としています。ツイッターで気になる英文や単語をそのノートにメモしていくと、どんどんとページが埋まっていき、現在、そのメモノートは34冊目に達しています。

これまでもそういうふうにしてメモしながら自分の中に蓄えていった英語表現は無数にあり、気になる英文を読みながら、自分の中に定着していない語法や表現法を認識して、使えるようにしています。こういうふうにして身につけた英語は仕事で英文を書く上で直接役に立つので、私にとって今やツイッターは気になる英語集めに欠かせないツールです。

ツイッターは140字という文字制限の中でコンパクトに英文がまとめられているので、瞬間的に目に入ってきた英文や英語表現を拾い集めるのに最適です。

例えば、私がここ最近このメモノートに書き集めた英文は次のようなものです。
