Kiyomizu Stage 清水の舞台

This is the Kiyomizu Temple, one of the most famous of the many World Heritage Sites in Kyoto.

In Japan, there is a standard phrase used when making an important life-changing decision. It is called "jumping off the Kiyomizu stage.“

For example, "I launched a venture company with the intention of jumping off the Kiyomizu stage at the age of 40.”

Of course, this is not meant literally, but only as a metaphor for things.
