【200日目 note千日回峰行】日に十転す

”古人は“君子は日に三転す”と言ったという。

君子は時勢の進展というものを刻々と見て、それによく処しているから、一日に三回も意見が変わっても不思議ではないというのであろう。

今日はおそろしくテンポの早い時代である。

そうした時代に、十年一日のごとき通念で、ものを見たり考えておれば判断をあやまることも多いだろう。

昔ですら君子たるものは一日に三転しなければならなかった。テンポの早い今日では、日に十転も二十転もするほどの識見と判断の素早さを持たねばなるまい。

人間の本性は変わらぬものだが、その上に立って、変わりゆく時勢の進展に刻々と処していくことが大事だと思う。

Ten turns in a day.

"The ancients said, "A sovereign turns three times a day.

The sovereign sees the progress of the times and deals with it well, so it is not surprising that he changes his opinion three times in a day.

Today is a very fast-paced era.

In such an age, if you look at things and think with the same mind-set as in a decade and a day, you may make many mistakes in judgment.

Even in the past, a sovereign had to make three turns in a day. In today's fast-paced world, one must be able to make ten or twenty turns a day and be quick to judge.

Human nature does not change, but I think it is important to stand on that foundation and deal with the changing times as they unfold.
