種から育てる April in Kyoto: growing flowers from seed

四月の京都
最近どこの園芸センターでも鉢植えの花が売っているが種を買って育ててみることにした。10日目ごろ、一つ二つと双葉が出始めた。14日目には蒔いた種のほとんどが芽を出した。苗から育てるのと違い、土の中から双葉が出てくるまではドキドキだが、出てきたら、育てている達成感を大きく感じることができる。

Even though I could buy the full-grown plants in pots, I decided to try growing flowers from the seeds. After around ten days of seeding, some of them came out with two-baby-leaves. By the 14th days, most of the seeds I had planted had sprouted finally. While waitng for them I was so nervous, but seeing their small leaves has brought me great satisfaction. Looking forward to see  them blossom coming flower season.
