十三まいりが子供から大人への節目、と感じるのは本裁ちの着物を着てお参りするからでしょうか。振り袖や真新しい中学校の制服姿の十三歳の子供達が神妙な顔をして渡月橋を渡る様子を見ました。法輪寺で授かった智慧を自分のものにするには渡月橋を渡りきるまで後ろを振り返らないこと。まっすぐ向いて歩いている姿は初々しくてよいです。

Heartwaming to see the 13-year-old guys, dressed in a Furisode or their new school uniform, walking seriously across the Togetsukyo Bridge without looking back even when someone call out to them. Very important is to hold onto the wisdom until they have crossed the bridge completely, that the Horinji Temple imparted them, which is located on the other side of the bridge.
