今日から仕事はじめの方も多いと思います（僕もそうです）。冬休みも後半になると長いなぁと思いますが、今日から仕事と思うのもなかなかイヤです。何か目的・目標を持つと、少しは毎日が楽しくなると思います。僕の目標は、「英語や海外に関する記事を一年で100個書くこと！」
今回は日本のサラリーマンについてです。サラリーマンは造語ですが、最近は海外でも通じるそうです。
サラリーマンと言えばサラリーマン川柳。「One team（ワンチーム）　無駄はジャッカル　されてほしい」効率の良い仕事のやり方をしたいです。
単語のポイントは

Japanese salaryman 日本のサラリーマン

I would like to talk about Japanese salaryman.
Salaryman is a coinage made in Japan, and it means the employee who receives salary, but mainly people image white collar workers.
They start their day by riding a packed train.　They work from 8 am to 5 pm, but most of Japanese salaryman do overtime.　They often go to Izakaya (Japanese bar/ pub) and Karaoke with their boss or colleagues on weeknights.
日本のサラリーマンについて話したいと思います。
サラリーマンは日本でできた造語で、それは給料をもらう人という意味ですが、主にはホワイトカラーワーカーがイメージされます。
サラリーマンの一日は満員電車から始まります。午前8時ぐらいから仕事をはじめ、終業は午後５時ですがだいたい残業をします。（人にもよりますが、）金曜日などは職場の仲間や上司と居酒屋にいったり、カラオケに行ったりします。

Lately, environments of salaryman are getting better compared to previous decades. If there are lot of overtime or power harassments, the company is recognized as a black (blacklisted) company, and they will not get enough new employees.
And in Japan we are facing the problem of declining birthrate, therefore lack of manpower (labor) is considered as a very serious problem.
最近は、サラリーマンの労働環境が良くなっています。なぜなら、残業やパワハラなどが多い企業はブラック企業と呼ばれ、新入社員が来なくなってしまうからです。少子高齢化がすすんでいる日本において、労働力の不足は企業の存続が危ぶまれる事態になります。

Once a year, there is a competition called salaryman senryu.
Senryu is similar to Haiku, but it does not have strict rules compared to Haiku.
Salaryman senryu expresses salaryman’s work life with comically, and sometimes seriously. If you get used to Japanese language, please try this and express the workstyle differences between Japan and foreign countries.
年に一度サラリーマン川柳というものがあります。これはサラリーマンの特徴をよく示しています。
川柳は俳句に似ていますが、それほど規則がありません（俳句は季語が必要＆文語体）。時にコミカルに、時にシリアスに現代社会を描写します。日本語に慣れてきたら、日本と海外の働き方の違いなどを川柳にしてみてはいかがでしょうか？
