Today is the day of the public lecture. Corn harvest, edamame harvest, carrot seeding.
今日は市民講座の日。トウモロコシの収穫、枝豆の収穫、人参の種まきでした。トウモロコシは、講座制の収穫後、余っていたのを売ってもらいました！まだ食べてないですが….
The general rule of seeding is to plant three times as deep as the seed. Since these carrot seeds are coated, the original seeds inside are much smaller, so they should be buried no more than 0.5 cm deep to match the size of the original seeds.
一般論として種の3倍の深さに植えると言うことだそうです。この人参の種はコーティングしてあるので、中のオリジナルの種はもっと小さいので、そのオリジナルの種の大きさに合わせて0.5cmもないくらいの深さに埋めます。
Seeds are covered with soil and rice husks to retain water.
保水のため、土をかぶせたあと籾殻もかぶせます。これから2週間は交替でボランティアメンバーがみずやりを毎日行います。わたしはいかないので・・・ごめんなさいなのですが。
