Edible Garden Diary - Summer Vegetables
I was supposed to go to Farmers Support today, but it was raining so I didn't go.
今日は雨だったので、農家支援には行けませんでした。
I purchased petite tomato, egg plant, and bitter gourd sprouts in the afternoon, and planted them in my garden. This time I put humus, garden lime and fermented smoked coal which my uncles and aunts sent me into the soil. I am going to stay away from chemical fertilizers. I have never given any chemical fertilizer to fava beans because aphids love chemical fertilizer.
午後からJAに買い物に行き、プチトマトと、茄子と、ゴーヤ(2本)の苗を購入して、地植えしました。腐葉土、苦土石灰、叔父と叔母の作った発酵燻炭を漉き込んでおります。一応化成肥料は今回は入れないで行こうと思います。空豆にもアブラムシが増えないよう、化成肥料を上げないようにしています。
It was the first time to raise the chemical fertilizer 8-8-8 to beets. Actually I love beet leaves more than beetroots.

Since I probably found termites? on Red Robin trees which are planted as our hedge. So I pruned them a lot - filled eight 40-l rubbish bags. It is quite difficult to keep my garden clean. I might have to take care of them more if this summer will be hotter than before, although I have never given them water, fertilizer even soil.
もしかしたらシロアリ？と思うようなものを生け垣にしているレッドロビンに見つけて、割と強めに剪定しました。剪定量はいつも通りで、40Lのゴミ袋8個分です。これから暑くなるし、きれいを維持するのは難しいですね。シロアリとか、ゴキブリとか、大量発生してさらに人間の生活に影響を与えるものは周囲にも迷惑を掛けそうなので気をつけなくては。もしかしたら生け垣のレッドロビンも剪定以外になにかしてあげないといけないのかもしれません、水も栄養も土を変えるとかもしてあげたことないんです。今年はナメクジも多くて大変です。
