Living in the countryside

I took the lesson with teacher I today.

She asked me about the weather in our place.
I answered it was sunny.
She told me that the weather in her place was terrible and overflowed her nearby.

I asked her if she put on rain shoes in that case.
She said No because if she put on rain shoes, people who worked in the office building were looking at her with curious eyes.
I experienced that when I was in senior high school, my house was far from the school.
It was snowing in our place, so I put on rain shoes, but after getting off the train, it wasn't snowing.
Many people looked at me with curious eyes.

Next, she asked me if you give some advice to young generations.
I said, "You should try everything that you want."
I wouldn't like that because I was living in the countryside.
In our place, especially, elderly women gathered at someone's house and had teatime together, then they tend to gossip.

My mom is a person who is concerned about what other people think about us.
I was affected by her, I became a person who tends to be concerned, and I hesitated to try what I wanted.

Living in the countryside there are many comfortable things, on the other hand, uncomfortable things happen.
They know each other too much, who lives in that house, how many people live there, and what does do, and so on.
If someone said, "I haven't met Mr. A recently," and another said, "I've heard he has been hospitalized."
In my opinion, "None of your business!!"
However, in an emergency, they can help each other.

I'd like to advise young generations, "You can try everything that you want and decide by yourself because you should live to own your life."

During the lesson, I had a word that I wanted to say, but I couldn't remember. "Rumor" was the exact word I wanted to say.
