Yesterday, April 16th, in the afternoon, the weather was unstable and hail fell:April 17th(Monday)
Yesterday, around 4:00 PM on the 16th, unusually large hailstones fell at a university in Kamigamo, Kita-ku, Kyoto City. The hailstones were about 1 cm in diameter (as seen in the photo on the right). When the hailstones hit metal, they made a ringing sound reminiscent of a xylophone. Despite there being no rain, thunder could be heard. Would this be what they call a "bolt from the blue" in Japanese?
