2023年3月8日（水）：BPのStatistical Review of World Energy（世界エネルギー統計）

エネルギー経済学分野の研究者にとって，英国の国際石油資本BP社が1952年から70年間にわたり無料で公開してきた年間誌の世界エネルギー統計「Statistical Review of World Energy」（通称：BP統計）は，調査研究の際に必ず利用する重要なデータベースであった。2023年2月28日に，BP社はこの世界エネルギー統計の管理者を辞めて，The Energy Institute (EI)に引き継ぎ，2023年版からThe Energy Institute Statistical Review of World Energyに移行すると公表した。研究者としては「BP統計によれば」と言うことができなくなることは，大変寂しい思いである。

For researchers in the field of energy economics, BP, the international oil company based in the UK, has provided an important database for research in the form of their annual publication, "Statistical Review of World Energy" (also known as BP Statistics), which has been freely available since 1952 for 70 years. On February 28, 2023, BP announced that they would be stepping down as the manager of this world energy statistics and passing it on to The Energy Institute (EI), which means that the 2023 edition will be published under the name "The Energy Institute Statistical Review of World Energy." As a researcher, it is a very lonely feeling to no longer be able to say "according to BP statistics."
