Interview:NO EXCUSE(Indonesia)

2023年に入り、国内外のハードコアバンドは挙ってツアーを行い、世界各国でその盛り上がりをみせる。その中でも、東南アジアそしてインドネシアの異常な熱量は、スルーすることはできない。
インドネシアのハードコアシーンの中心を担うのが、Set The Fire Recordsであり、インドネシア国内バンドのリリース、Brave OutやTrue Fightなど国外バンドのリリースだけでなく、多くのツアーバンドのブッキングにも参画している。（最近だとSunamiとかfiddleheadとかAngel Dustも！)
そして、Set The Fire Recordsより2022年7月にリリースされた「Desperate Search」が話題になった、インドネシアのNo Excuseが我々New Direction Bookingの招聘の元、来日を果たす。
今回は、Set The Fire Recordsのオーナーであり、No ExcuseのギタリストであるEddxyouthに来日前にインタビューを実施した。

1.バンドを始めたのはいつですか?他にメンバーがいるバンドがあれば教えてください。

2019年の初めにZumi(ex Set The Fire、Bridge Nineでも働いていたスーパーワールドワイド日本人!)とKevin(Vo)と会話したときに、私たちはバンドを始めることになりました。そこにPeloy（Dr, Stand Clear, Heaven In）、Riyo（Ba, In our Hands）が加わりました。 2019 年のデモがリリースされた後、Zumi は脱退し、Kodir (Gt, Feel the Burn、Frack、Walk Fearless) が彼の代わりを務めています。

2.あなたに影響を与えたバンドを教えてください。

私たちはJudge、Desperate Measures、Strife、Cro-Magsといったオールドスクールのバンドから、近年のバンドまで幅広く影響を受けています。

3.インドネシアでは今年もエッジデイのイベントが開催されます。ユースクルーやオールドスクールシーンが盛り上がっているように思うのですが、どう思いますか？

ついに今年エッジデイのイベントを、久しぶりに開催できることになりました。ストレートエッジやユースクルーといった、伝統があり素晴らしいバンドと共演できることをとても楽しみにしています。パンデミックの後、多くの新しい若い世代の人たちがハードコアショーに来て、彼らは本当に情熱的であることに気づきました。

4.おすすめのインドネシアの新しいバンドはいますか？

たくさんいるけど、特に注目しているのは次のバンドです。
Bridge (skinhead hardcore)
Still Broken
Blazing truth
Hand of Chain
Miles Ahead
Coming right up

5.日本のハードコアシーンについての印象はどんなものですか？

日本のハードコアシーンはインドネシアとは、また違ったスタイルを持っており、私たちを本当に興奮させます。そして、ついにこの素晴らしいシーンを生で見ることができます。個人的に、No Choice in this matter、FC Five、Endzweck、Brave Out、True Fight、Numbernine などの日本のバンドにハマっています。

6.日本で何をしたいですか?

インドネシアのハードコアシーンを紹介し、日本の友達と遊んで、できるだけ新しい友達を作りたいと思っています。

No Excuse Interview (English)

1.When did you start the band? Please let me know if there are any other bands with members.

We start a band early of 2019 when I made a conversation with Zumi and Kevin. And then Peloy (Stand Clear, Heaven In), Riyo (In our Hands) joined. After demo 2019 released Zumi was no longer with us and Kodir (Feel the Burn, Frack, Walk Fearless) replaced him.

2.Please let me know any bands that have influenced you.

We mainly influenced by Judge, desperate Measures, Strife, Cro Mags, and lots of New Hardcore

3.In Indonesia,the Edge Day event will be held again this year. I think Youth Crew and Old School scenes seem to be thriving, but how do you feel about them?

Yeah finally Edge Day held again this year, we’re super excited to play with lot of great bands in tradition with Straight Edge and Youth Crew. After the pandemic we’ve noticed so many new generation come to hardcore show and they’re really passionate. Love em 3.(For only Zip)Compared to NxE, ZIP's sound has a strong punk tone and a strong influence of 80's hardcore. Do you usually perform live with bands from the punk scene too?

4.What is your impression of Japan's hardcore scene? Please give me your honest opinion.

If there's a band you like, that's it too. Japanese Hardcore scene have a different style, that’s make us really excited and we finally could visit this amazing scene. Im personally into Japanese hardcore scene such No Choice in this matter, FC Five, Endzweck, Brave out, true fight, number nine.

5.What do you want to do in Japan?

Mainly we want introduce Indonesian Hardcore scene, hang out with our Japanese friends and we want to making new friends as much as we can.
