Hello everyone! This month, we celebrated a wonderful global event – Mother’s Day🎈
On May 12, 2024, this day was marked worldwide to emphasize spending time with mothers and nurturing family bonds.
This time, I have been fortunate to receive many stories related to Mother's Day from my colleagues at Fujitsu General worldwide. I am excited to share these heartwarming anecdotes with all of you💗
- Mother's Day in the U.S.
Let's start with a story from the U.S.!
A colleague at Fujitsu General America Inc. spent the wonderful Mother’s Day with her family.
“This Mother’s Day on May 12th, I was blessed to celebrate with both my children and mother.
We spent the day at a local brewery enjoying food, music, and drinks🍴 The kids and dog ran around playing, while I sat back and enjoyed the laughter, smiles, and beautiful weather.
My mother and I spent the rest of the day antique shopping while enjoying one another’s company🎁”
- Mother's Day in Italy
Next, a story from Italy. A colleague at Fujitsu General (Italia) S.p.A. celebrated by sending cakes with the message "Mamma, sei mitica" (Mom, you are legendary🏆):
“In Italy, Mother’s Day doesn't typically involve symbolic gifts such as carnation. Instead, we celebrate by giving our mothers their favorite flowers or various gifts, or by sharing meals together💐
Many of my colleagues received heartfelt message cards from their children. One of my team members mentioned that her children had submitted a message for her in the reader contributions of a local newspaper📰”

Our next highlight comes from Greece! A mother who is a colleague at Fujitsu General South East Europe S.A. enjoyed a delightful day with her children:
"Mother's Day is a wonderful opportunity to showcase our love and gratitude towards our amazing mothers. It's a day dedicated to those who, with their love, care, and support, make us feel always embraced and secure👐
Every year, in Greece, we celebrate this day on the second Sunday of May.
It's a day filled with flowers, gifts, cute drawings, and sweet words, but above all, with unlimited love. It's our chance to thank our mothers for their dedication and to show them how important they are to us.
So, let's make this day special for our mothers, with love, joy, and appreciation💖"

I received a heartwarming tale from Fujitsu General Do Brasil Ltda. as they commemorated Mother's Day by presenting working mothers with thoughtful tokens of appreciation and crafting a beautiful mural board messages to express their gratitude💌
"On Mother's Day, many people prepare a gift for their mother as a form of appreciation🎀
Gifts can be flowers, clothes, shoes, cosmetics, or any other item that the mother likes. On this day, we usually gather the family to celebrate together, have a special lunch, or go to a restaurant.
This year, I cherished the day enjoying a special lunch with my mother by my side🍾"

Lastly, I would like to share a story from Fujitsu General (Middle East) FZE in the UAE. Mother’s Day in the Middle East, including countries like UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, Egypt, Lebanon, and Jordan, falls in March, differing from the global date. In 2024, it was observed on the 21st of March:
“Reflecting on my childhood, Mother's Day held immense significance. At school, it was not just a normal event, but it was an outstanding & remarkable gathering; it stood out as well-organized with balloons, flowers, catering, a DJ, and elegant lighting💡
On this precious occasion, the school brought both students and their mothers for a heartfelt celebration. Commencing with introductory speeches and heartfelt sentiments shared by students and mothers alike, the atmosphere was filled with the warmth and delight.
Engaging in a varriety of activities, laughter permeated the air, accompanied by delightful traditional dishes and ending up with the ceremonial cutting of cakes🍰”
