さて新年一発にお話しする内容は昨年ちょっと話題になったドラマについてです。

快感インストール

これは昨年の12月にｄTV（動画配信サイト）にて放送されたドラマのタイトルだ。このドラマアイドルグループジャニーズのKis-My-Ft2のメンバーである北山宏光さんの持ち込み企画で、同グループの二階堂高嗣さんが主演を務める。ｄTVではKis-My-Ft2の楽曲をテーマとしたドラマ企画が行われておりその第二弾として作られたものだそうだ。

公式ホームページによると

究極の〈男の夢〉をオリジナルストーリーで完全実写化！
未経験男子が女性のおっぱいに触れると
その女性の快感を自分にインストールできる特殊能力を手に入れ
親友とともに奮闘するという男子垂涎のオリジナルストーリー

と紹介されている。

このドラマの何が話題になったかというと「女性のおっぱいに触れるとその女性の快感を自分にインストールできる」このコンセプトだ。
ドラマより先に公開された予告編では実際に二階堂が女性の胸に触れるシーンが公開されSNS上で非難が殺到した。

ドラマは性暴力の軽視を助長するのか

女性に対しても男性に対しても同意のない性的接触は性暴力だ。
そして、今も日本では性暴力を軽視するような雰囲気があるのが事実だ。
ではなぜ性暴力は軽視されるのか、悪ふざけの一種として扱われてしまうのか。
今回のドラマのようにラッキースケベとして扱われる作品にも少なからず原因はあるのではないか。
もちろん現実とフィクションを一緒にしてはいけない。
殺人事件のドラマがあったからといって殺人を犯すことを良いととらえる人ないないだろう。
しかし、性暴力に対してはまだ問題視している人が少ないこの現状でその行為を悪としない扱い方をした作品があると問題視されにくい現状が続いてしまう。

作品を作るにしても「エロ」と「性暴力」この違いをはっきりと区別することが大切ではないかと思う。

So, the first thing I'm going to talk about in 2021 is this tv series that stirred up a bit of a controversy last year.

快感インストール -Kaikan Install-

快感インストール -Kaikan Install- [English translation: Pleasure Installation] is a tv series that aired on dTV (a Japanese video streaming site) in December of 2020. 

This show was brought to dTV by Hiromitsu Kitayama, a member of Johnny's entertainment idol group named Kis-My-Ft2. Takatsugu Nikaido, a member of the same idol group, also plays a leading role in the show. 

dTV has been producing tv shows based on the theme of Kis-My-Ft2's songs, and this is the second one of such tv series.

According to the official website, 

this show is introduced as a “live-action and original tv series that portrays the men’s ultimate dream!”. It revolves around the main character and his best friend. The main character, an inexperienced guy, gains a special power where when he touches a woman's breasts, he is able to “install” that woman's sexual pleasures into himself and experience it.

What made this series such a controversy was the very concept that if a man touches a woman's breasts, he can install that woman's pleasure into himself. In the trailer that was released before the tv series came out, Nikaido was seen actually touching a woman's breasts, and that scene drew a lot of criticism on social media.

Does the tv series encourage the downplaying of sexual violence?

Non-consensual sexual contact, whether with a woman or a man, is sexual violence.

Having said that, there is still a notion of indifference and apathy toward sexual violence in Japan. So why is the issue of sexual violence often downplayed and treated as a kind of prank?

There is definitely a reason behind the fact that there are quite a few movies that are similar to this type of drama, in which male characters are portrayed as 'lucky perverts'.

Of course, reality and fiction should not be mixed up. Needless to say, no one would think it is okay to commit murder just because there was a tv series about a murder case. Having said that, not many people see sexual violence as a problem, and series and movies that do not portray such acts as wrong make it difficult for people to see the problem.

During media production, I think it is definitely important to clearly differentiate between the two concepts of ‘Erotic’ and ‘Sexual violence’.
