肝に銘じる（きもにめいじる）

Deeply imprinting something in your heart and seriously remembering important lessons or advice.

この事故の原因を肝に銘じ、将来同じ過ちを繰り返さないようにしなければならない。
このじこのげんいんをきもにめいじ、しょうらいおなじあやまちをくりかえさないようにしなければならない。
We must take the cause of this accident to heart and ensure that the same mistake is not repeated in the future.

釘を刺す（くぎをさす）

Strongly advising as a reminder. It's a way to make sure the other person doesn't forget important points or notices.

まだ正式な発表前なので、絶対に口外してはいけないとスタッフに釘を刺した。
まだせいしきなはっぴょうまえなので、ぜったいにこうがいしてはいけないとすたっふにくぎをさした。
I emphasized to the staff that they must absolutely not divulge any information as it's still before the official announcement.

It refers to a skill or work being very delicate and carefully crafted in detail. It's used to praise fine craftsmanship and meticulous work.
