Logician on surface, still trapped in very ambiguous narrative

“16 Personalities” test told me that I belong to INTP (introverted, intuitive, thinking, perceiving), or Logician and has better fit to a researcher. I totally agree with the result and sometimes still imagine if I kept pursuing a scientific career.

Some say I am logical; others say I am intuitive. For me in context of business, logical explanation is a narrative to persuade stakeholders, not an explanation of undoubtful truth. Everyone always has a room to collect biased information and arbitrarily use or not use them. That type of questionable argument sometimes annoys, embarrasses me.

Amidst such ambiguity, financial way of thinking is broadly fact-based, quantitative, and in many cases logical. Having said that, in my opinion, computers can do far better than humans if it just requires numbers and logic. Thus, today logical consequences are overall commodities without scarcity premium, then what is a role of human touch in this field? Possible answers would be decision, preference, and sense of aesthetics.

My current and previous jobs have been requiring me to make recommendation to now supervisors, previously clients. This could not be a boilerplate, it should always be creative and original. Of course, those suggestion has to be based on facts and logical thinking, however, final decisions are sometimes done taking all other elements into consideration.

On the other hand, for my personal decision making, I sometimes leverage my preference and sense of aesthetics whenever ambiguous situation with a strong will to make that decision right. This approach enables me to have accountability with confidence even if it was rationally a mistake.

Contrarian way of thinking against common sense is my favorite attitude and it sometimes let me in difficult situations, but I believe that risk worth taking because computers WILL not.
