"Where is my son?"75Years, Hiroshima Dr.Soko's DAY16/50

(Nobuko came into Hiroshima to look for her grand mother on Aug 7 , the next day of A-bomb. She walked passing Hiroshima station and rivers., passing people who had terrible burns)

People looking into charcoal

Nobuko's breathing became rough, and each step became a small step. She felt legs terribly heavy.
"It's almost Aioi bridge, not far from Grandma's house. It's a little more across the river. A little more ..."
At that time, Nobuko's eyes were attracted by the strange sight.

Black loads were piled up on the shelf-like stand, on the school yard. Some pairs of men and women were putting their hands on each black object and examining something inside.

When Nobuko came close to it, what appeared to be black was a pile of the remains of a small child, charred like charcoal.
It was heartbreaking to see the small bodies of elementary school children overlapping each other like black charcoal sticks messed up.

Nobuko closed her eyes and put her hands together in front of her chest to pray for the children for a while.

Then, a woman who was putting her hand into one of a child's body came close to Nobuko and spoke to her. So Nobuko had not choice to open her eyes.

"My son is a student of this school"

"My boy is a student of this school. He is definitely here. So my husband and I are looking for our boy. My kid sometimes made a tooth decay, and treated it with a dentist. So, I'm prying a mouth open and looking for the marks on my child's teeth treated."

The bodies of the stacked children were burned to charcoal and turned into black lumps. The father and mother were looking for their child, thrusting their fingers to a face to look at their child's tooth.

There were other parents who were searching desperately for their child in the same way.

Nobuko put her hands together to pray for the children, once again.

She turned to Aioi Bridge, to look for her grandmother.
