タイは同性間の養子縁組の支援で先頭に立っている
世界最大の統計調査データプラットフォームでドイツのインフォグラフィクスを紹介しているハンブルク(Stadt Hamburg)にあるStatista GmbHのデータ・ジャーナリスト(data Journalist)のアンナ・フレック(Anna Fleck)の報告として2024年06月03日に、フローリアン・ツァント(Florian Zandt)、フレックス・リヒター(Felix Richter)の報告とともに、同性カップルによる完全な共同養子縁組は、ヨーロッパの23か国や米国を含む世界中の多くの国で合法ですが、どこでもそうであるわけではありません。
たとえば、アフリカのほとんどの国やアジアの大半の国ではそうではありません。完全な共同養子縁組とは、LGBTカップルに養子縁組に参加する平等な権利が与えられることです。
しかし、タイは地域のパターンから脱却し、下院は結婚を男女間ではなく2人の個人間のパートナーシップとみなす法案を可決しました。
この新しい法案が上院で承認され、国王の承認を得て法律になれば、結婚した同性カップルにも養子縁組の権利が与えられることになります。
イプソス(Ipsos)による新しい調査では、タイ人が同性カップルの養子縁組の権利を圧倒的に支持していることが示され、調査対象となった26か国の中でトップを占め、回答者の80％以上が同性カップルが異性カップルと同じ養子縁組の権利を持つべきだと同意しています。
他に支持率が高い国としては、スウェーデン（78％）とスペイン（74％）が挙げられますが、トルコは反対に支持率がわずか29％でした。プライド月間(Pride month)は毎年06月に開催されます。
このイベントはLGBT+コミュニティの祝賀と記念に捧げられており、平等を求める継続的な闘いについての意識を高めています。
