Be Friend with Cloudformation

Nice to meet you! My name is Kotaro Nakane, and I work as a director at Definer Inc.

In this article, I will talk about my love for AWS's Cloudformation service.

Infrastructure as Code(IaC)

Infrastructure as Code (IaC) is attracting a great deal of attention in development using AWS and other cloud services.

IaC is a concept to code the configuration of cloud services and is expected to be adopted by more and more companies in the future from the viewpoint of scalability and maintainability.

Our cloud architecture also uses IaC in principle.

Here's what's great about Cloudformation

When you think of IaC, you probably think of Terraform.

Of course, I have used Terraform, and I love it too from the standpoint of flexibility and ease of use. (Let me tell you about my love for Terraform at a later date.)

Now, let me explain what I like about Cloudformation (Cfn).

(1) It rolls back in case of failure.

This is controversial, but I like it.
I like that it is clear whether it is 0 or 100.

(2) I don't have to think about managing files that hold the state of resource creation.

AWS does it on its own behind the scenes.

(3) It is AWS official.

I think there is an aspect that it is easier to manage if you unify the parts that can be unified by AWS.

We encourage everyone to become friends with Cloudformation.

For those who have read this

If you have read this far, I am sure we share some values, and I would be very happy if we could talk casually first.
