親愛なる息子へ

今朝は、妹がPapaが昔住んでいた場所（実家のすぐ近くなんだ）で、クッキング教室をするというので、君と一緒に（君はねていたのだけど）でかけたよ。

君の紹介が一番の理由。Papaの会社で以前働いていた人たち（Nさん、Sさん）や、親戚の人、コミュニティリーダーもきていた、とってもにぎやかだった。

Papaと君の滞在は15分ほどだったんだけど、君をお披露目できてよかったと思うよ。

その後はね、カナダからの知り合いが家にきてくれたんだ。Papaが会社にいっている2時間ほど、君を見守ってくれていたよ。本当にありがたいなぁと思うよ。Mamaの親友の友達でもあるんだ。

Mamaと、1日のうちに、２，３回は電話したり、ビデオ通話したりするんだけど、Mamaがいる海外では、台風がきているみたい・・・。Mamaが無事で、何事もなく帰国できるように祈っているよ。

君が大きくなったら、きっと（というか間違いなく）、Mamaのおねえさんがいるヨーロッパや、カナダ、台湾等にもいく機会があると思う。そんなことを想いながら、今は君との時間を大切にしていこうと思うよ。

Dear　Son

This morning, your aunt was holding a cooking class near the place where Papa used to live (it’s very close to our family home). So I took you along, although you were still sleeping.

The main reason was to introduce you. People who used to work at Papa’s company (Ms. N and Ms. S), relatives, and community leaders were all there. It was very lively.

Papa and you stayed for about 15 minutes, but I was glad to introduce you.

After that, a friend from Canada came to visit us. While Papa was at work for two hours, they looked after you. I’m really grateful. They are also a friend of Mama’s best friend.

Mama and I talk on the phone or video call two or three times a day, but there seems to be a typhoon where Mama is overseas... I’m praying that Mama stays safe and can return home without any trouble.

When you grow up, I’m sure (actually, there’s no doubt) you’ll have the chance to visit places like Europe where Mama’s sister lives, Canada, and Taiwan. Thinking about that, I want to cherish the time I have with you now.
