The Japanese people's openness, harmony, and spirituality 3

This is quite a lengthy piece, but let me take a moment to share a part of my life story. What I'm about to tell you might sound unbelievable or hard to accept for many, whether you're in Okinawa or the mainland, and that's absolutely fine. You're under no obligation to believe it, even if it's related to exploring Japan's spirituality.

Around 2003, I found myself surrounded by healers. However, I personally didn't possess any of these spiritual abilities. Fast forward to 2009 when I revisited Okinawa after quite some time. I was attending a retreat event I organized in Tamagusuku, a place in Nanjo City where I currently reside. On the very first day, the phrase "reborn here" echoed in my mind about 20 times.

In fact, since 2003, I had occasionally received messages in my head, but never had words repeated in such a way. Over the years, I returned to hold retreats at the same location about three or four times. Through these repeated visits, I interpreted this message to mean my own rebirth.

Then, on the day before the summer solstice in 2013, I made the decision to move to Tamagusuku, Nanjo City, with my 10-year-old son. This decision came after my divorce at the end of 2012. Tamagusuku is a place where sacred sites are densely concentrated, and I came to realize that the central one was Tamagusuku Gusuku.

Surprisingly, my first few visits didn't feel quite right. I experienced discomfort and even headaches when driving by. My son, who was in the passenger seat, said, "This is bad, I have a headache too." However, after a few years, I no longer got headaches when passing by. It made me contemplate visiting Tamagusuku Gusuku soon.

Tamagusuku Gusuku is situated on a small hill, covered in stone walls. When you climb the steps, you encounter an impressive stone wall called the Sun Gate, which leads you to an opening at the center. In 2018, during the spring equinox, I finally decided to explore this place.
