Women in agile Tokyo conference2023 now released!

Women in Agile Japan will have the" Women in Agile Tokyo 2023" conference.
When:Fri, February 17, 2023, 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM JST
At :Osaki Bright Core Hall

What is Women in Agile Tokyo2023 conference?

Women in Agile is an event for "Agile Leaders" who practice and support the spread of Agile in their companies. We will share practical know-how, what has worked, what has not worked, and ideas we are warming up to, find friends and mentors and discuss any concerns you may have.
Particularly for women; here, Japan (software development area) still lacks female workers, leaders, role models, and places every woman can rely on when we have complicated things. So I hope everyone can get new connections/ learnings from each other.

Our Key message
"Nothing" happens if you do "Nothing".
Ourselves make our next steps.

Being pessimistic about your surroundings and situation does not start anything. It starts with putting your feelings, thoughts, and discomfort into words. Interact with others. We believe it will push you and give you new strength.

Keynote speaker

Rumiko Seya
Ms. Seya is the President of Reach Alternatives (REALs), an NGO specialising in conflict peacebuilding, capacity building, and gender mainstreaming in Africa, Asia, and the Middle East.
She has had significant achievements in positively resolving/preventing conflicts and finding a way between the parties.

Her experience and thoughts are very insightful to us.
Agilists need to drive collaboration while breaking the bias and facing many hard things.

After the keynote speech, we will have discussions freely using OST.

What is OST?

In Open Space, the participants decide everything.
Agenda, location, time, everything.
The procedure is simple
(1) Opening
Everyone sits in a circle, and the purpose of the meeting is explained.
(2) Think & Call for agendas
What do you want to talk about herewith these people at this time? Think about it. When it is time to call for an agenda, the person who wants to talk (the theme owner) declares "what, where, and when he/she wants to talk" and calls for people to talk together. The theme can be anything you want to discuss or consult other people with.
(3) Select & Talk
People choose where they want to talk, move around, and talk with those who have gathered.
There may be some refreshment time to make it easier to enter and leave the room, but basically, you can enter and leave freely.

There may be some refreshment time to make it easier to enter and leave the room, but basically, you can enter and leave freely.

[4 discipline of OST]
1)Whoever comes are the right people. The people who care will be the people who come to take part in the conversation.
2)Whatever happens is the only thing that can. Be prepared to be surprised.
3)Whenever it starts is the right time. Inspiration and creativity don't run on the clock.
4)When it's over, it's over. Do the work 'til it's done; don't work to the clock.

Message

Let's imagine--
What's possible when a group of brilliant people bring their energy and intelligence to make something happen?

Let's consider--
What's needed to transform? Why did a problem happen? What needs to be unveiled? How can we encourage ourselves to act?

How can we use Agile/Scrum values and knowledge to impact the big issues --from issues close to your heart to social issues--in Japan?

Join us, and let's use our powers for good.

Please take this opportunity to bring someone you'd like to talk to, bring your boss, subordinate or teammate or of course, come alone! We are looking forward to spending time with you!!

NOTE
Women in Agile wants to ensure a respectful, safe and inclusive environment for everyone whenever they are involved in Women in Agile activities, events, or operations. We will not tolerate any form or position of harassment or disrespectful behavior, interactions, messages, images, etc.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in this matter.
