September 19, 2022: My Apartment (4), Purchase without Seeing in Real, Big Gamble（ボクのマンション（4）、実物を見ることもなく購入、大きな賭け）

In retrospect, I was cursed with a strong desire to buy the apartment. Otherwise, I would not have had it. I visited the developer’s office with my wife and daughter since I would like to see the details of the apartment. But I had no chance to see it in real. I had the details accounted for orally or in writing and had a model room shown. But the model room was not what we expected to see. I was a little confused about it. I had to sign a contract to pay tens of millions of yen for the apartment without seeing the real one. I told myself that it was inevitable since it had been under construction. And I signed the contract, though I had it in my mind that it was weird and a big bet. My desire to buy it must have prevailed over anything else.
A few years later, I talked about it to my Spanish customer at dinner. It amazed him so much. It would not happen in Spain. No one would make such an expensive purchase of tens of millions of yen without seeing it in real.
It is the strangest experience of my life, and I want to have no experience like that again.

　今思えば、当時はマンションを買いたいという気持ちが強かったのだと思います。そうでなければ、買わなかったはずです。マンションの詳細を知りたかったので、マンションの開発業者の事務所を妻と娘と3人で訪問しました。でも、実物を見ることはできませんでした。マンションの詳細説明は、口頭と書面のみでした。モデルハウスはありましたが、ボクたちが買いたい部屋とは違う間取りでした。これには、少し戸惑いました。実物を見ることもなく、何千万円もする契約を結ばなければならないのです。新築なので、仕方ないと自分に言い聞かせてました。そして、契約が変で、大きな賭けとと思いながら、契約に署名しました。何よりも、買いたいとく気持ちが勝っていたのでしょう。
　数年後に、スペインのお客さんとの夕食時にこの話をしたら、目を回していました。スペインでは、実物もないのに、何千万円もする物件を購入することはあり得ないそうです。
　多分、ボクの人生で一番不思議な体験だと思います。あんな経験は二度と御免です。
