January 5, 2023: Mouth Sores, Swelling in Nose, Oronine（口内炎、鼻のできもの、オロナイン）

I had mouth sores at the end of the year. I did nothing about it for a few days as I expected it to subside shortly. However, it showed no signs of going away. Thus, I decided to use a medicated cream. Looking for it throughout the house, I only found an all-purpose cream, Oronine H Ointment, and put it in my mouth and on my lips. I was a little nervous about using it in my mouth, but I gave in to the temptation to use it. As a result, it eased my pain a little the following morning. The improvement encouraged me to continue to use it. And just before putting it in my mouth again, I was stopped by my wife. She was astonished to see me put it in my mouth and told me how crazy it was that I put the cream in my mouth. Then, she gave me a cream for mouth sores. It felt cool and made me feel comfortable. I was impressed with the efficacy of the mouth sore cream, and the sore was gone.
Immediately after the mouth sore was gone, I felt something wrong with my left nose. It was swelling. I looked for dedicated medicine throughout the house. But I failed to find it and had no choice but to use the all-purpose cream again. Then, it works better for the swelling than for the sore mouth. I will see a nose doctor if the swelling is not gone within a few days.

年末に口内炎ができました。直ぐに治るだろうと数日間放置していたのですが、治る気配がないため、薬を使うことにしました。塗り薬を探したところ、万能薬のオロナインしかなかったため、これを口の周りと口内に塗りました。オロナインを口の中に塗って大丈夫かという不安はあったのですが、翌朝には口内炎が少し改善していました。これに味をしめ、オロナインを口内にもう一度塗ろうとした時、妻に止められました。「オロナインを口内に塗るなんてあり得ない」と言われ、口内炎専用の塗り薬を出してきてくれました。もらった薬はひんやりして気持ちよく、専用の薬は違うと感心しました。そして、口内炎も治まりました。
ところが、その直後に。左の鼻に違和感を覚えました。できものができたのです。専用薬を捜しましたが、なかったため仕方なく、オロナインを塗りました。すると、口内炎の時より効いています。数日で治りそうになければ、耳鼻科に行きます。
