教会には十字架がある

教会には十字架があるけど、十字架って本当は死刑にするための残酷な道具だよね。
なんで、教会は十字架が大切なんだろう？

十字架の苦しみは、神様にのろわれる苦しみ、これ以上ない苦しみ・・・
本当は私たちが受けるべき苦しみなのに、イエス様が担って下さった。

イエス様が、私たちの罪のために、十字架にかかって下さったとわかるとき、心が震えるほど、感謝する。

使徒信条の、「ポンテオ・ピラトのもとに苦しみを受け、十字架につけられ」と告白する私たち。
いつまでも、この驚きを大切にしたい。



9月から、教会学校では使徒信条を学んでいます。
使徒信条、今回は英語を載せてみました。
今日のところは４行目、わかるかな？

The Apostles' Creed

I believe in God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth.  
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord who was concieved by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilatet, crucified,
died, and was buried; he descended to the dead.  
On the third day he rose again
he ascended into heaven,
he is seated at the right hand of the Father
and he will come to judge the living and the dead.
 I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church,
the communion of the saints, the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. 　Amen.
