アイルランドのセットダンスとケーリー、直輸入！
アイルランドで踊られてきた“セットダンス”はステップのバリエーションや地域性が楽しい人気が高いソーシャルダンスです。
バンドの生演奏で踊る”ケーリー（Céilí）”という集いでは、老若男女が賑やかにダンスを楽んでいます。
そのセットダンスを今回教えてくれるのは、2015年以来の来日となるパット・マーフィー。優しい教え方に定評がある、セットダンス界では誰もが知っているダンス講師です。
今回もたくさんのダンスを丁寧に教えてくれることでしょう。
さらに、超ベテランミュージシャン2人組のGer & Kenが迫力ある演奏でケーリーを盛り上げます。
本場アイルランドのワークショップやケーリーの雰囲気を味合える3日間のお祭りとなること間違いなしです。

Set Dancing Festival with Pat Murphy and Ger & Ken will be held on November 23rd (Nagano), 25th (Tokyo) and 26th (Tokyo) in Japan.
The "Set Dance" that have been danced in Ireland is popular social dance with fun variations in steps and regional characteristics. At gatherings called "Céilí", band plays live music, men and women of all ages enjoy dancing.
Pat Murphy, who has been coming to Japan since 2015, will be teaching us those set dances. He is a well-known dance instructor in the set dance world with a reputation for his gentle teaching style. This is the great chance to take his class in Japan. In addition, two very experienced musicians, Ger & Ken, will enliven the Céilís with their powerful performance. This three-day festival is sure to be a great opportunity to experience the authentic Irish workshops and atmosphere of Céilís.

基本ステップから徹底マスター～パットさんと踊ろう～
セットダンスの基本的な姿勢、組み方、さらにステップや動作からはじめて、まずはセットダンスの基礎を本場の講師パットさんから学ぶ貴重な機会です。
Pat Murphy will teach sets for all levels of dancers, including beginners, at Rokumeikan in Nagano City. In the evening a céilí with Ger and Ken will be held at the same venue, following their enchanting concert.

パワフルな演奏を体感しよう
ベテランミュージシャンのジェラルド・マーフィーとケン・コッターのライブを楽しんだ後はケーリーです！パワフルなアコーディオンとキーボードのサウンド、リフトたっぷりのノリを体感してください。なおスマホで検索したり、メモをみながら踊ることはあまり望ましくないと考えてください。昔ながらのアイルランドの流儀に従って、その場の雰囲気に合わせて選ばれたダンスを通して、ダンサー同士がやりとりを楽しみながら踊りましょう。 Connemara Set、Ballyvourney Jig Set、Lancersは踊る予定です。必要な場合はコールがつきますのでご安心ください。
After enjoying the live performances of veteran musicians Gerald Murphy and Ken Cotter, Céilí is the place to be! Experience the powerful accordion and keyboard sounds with the lift. Please note that it is not advisable to dance by looking on your smart phone or notes. In traditional Irish way, dancers will enjoy interacting with each other as they dance through dances chosen to fit the mood of the occasion. At least Connemara Set, Ballyvourney Jig Set and Clare Lancers Set will be danced. Calls will be provided if needed.

初心者にもわかりやすいステップとセット
セットダンスの基本的な姿勢、組み方、さらにステップや動作からはじめて、フィガーごとにセットを学びます。習うセットはパット・マーフィーがセレクトした、通常のケーリーで踊る機会は少ないけれども、アイルランドの本格的な伝統セットです。ダンスの背景について講師からのお話を聞きながら、正しい踊り方を学べる貴重な機会です。
We will start with the basic set dance posture and assembly, as well as steps and movements, and then learn a set figure by figure. The sets you will learn are selected by Pat Murphy and are authentic traditional Irish sets that are rarely danced in a regular ceili. This is a great opportunity to learn how to dance properly with amusing talk about the background of the dances.

ダンスの地域による違いを体験
セットダンスはもともとカドリールなどの外国生まれの流行ダンスがアイルランドに入り、アイルランドの音楽を取り入れながら各地域で独自に発展したものです。このワークショップでは、ローカルセットがどのように踊られてきたかという地域性を深く知ることができるでしょう。リールステップが特徴的なコネマラ（ゴールウエイ）、クレア、ロスコモンのセットをピックアップして、ステップの特徴やダンスの背景を解説してもらいながら、踊ってみましょう。
Set dances were originally foreign-born popular dances such as quadrille that came to Ireland and developed uniquely in each region along with Irish music. This workshop will provide an in-depth look at the regional characteristics of how local set dances have been performed. We will pick up sets from Connemara (Galway), Clare, and Roscommon, which are characterized by the reel step, and learn them with the characteristics of the steps and the backgrounds.

パットさんの推しセットを踊る
毎年新しいセットを発掘・開拓し、ワークショップで普及させているため、セット・ダンスの伝道師といえるパット・マーフィー。彼が今年の夏のサマースクールで力を入れてきたセットコレクションを習い、踊ります。Pat Murphy is a set dance evangelist because he discovers and pioneers new sets every year and popularizes them in his workshops. You will learn and dance the set collections he has been focusing on at this summer's summer school.
13:30 - 16:30　東京アフタヌーン・ケーリー11/26

また会う日まで Happy Dancing!
ウイークエンドを締めくくるのはゆったりとした午後のケーリー。
Ger＆Kenの来日最後のケーリーをパットさんと共に楽しんでください。パットさんの故郷のティぺレアリーの有名なセット（ポルカとスライド、ホーンパイプで構成）と、ケーリーの締めといえばこれ、というクレアのセットは踊る予定ですので事前にチェックしてみてください。その他のセットは公開せず、当日のお楽しみとします。
We will close out the weekend with a leisurely afternoon Céilí, and we hope you will join us. We will be dancing the famous set from Pat's hometown, Co, Tipperary (consisting of polka, slide, and hornpipe) and the set from Co, Clare, which is the best way to end a Céilí, so please check it out in advance. The other sets will not be disclosed, and will be left for the audience to enjoy on the day.
