新潟市不思議巡り

龍照時は新潟市下本町に位置してます。

明治末から大正にかけて近くに暮らしてた作家の三芳梯吉に書かれた"砂丘物語"の中にその寺院の話しが出って、探しに行ってきた。

現在は一階建てですが、大正に新潟市唯一三階建て寺院でした。

そして本堂の扉の上に天保銭で'寺照龍'が書いてた。

いつかその銭が無くなったものの、影像が残ってます。

Ryusho Temple is mentioned in "The Story of a Dune", an illustrated book by author/ illustrator Miyoshi Teikichi, who grew up in downtown Niigata City from the late Meiji through the Taisho Era.

He describes the temple as possessing two unusual features: it had  three stories, and the characters of the name were formed right to left by hollow coins attached  to a board above the doors to the sanctuary. 

The temple lost its second and third floors at some time, as well as the coins, though the outline of the characters is still visible.
