Taga Town, Shiga Prefecture, which can be said to be the spiritual center of Japan, is a place where history and nature live. This is the latest destination visited by BowGriP Rakuyu, and we will report on its charms.

Taga Town is located in the eastern part of Lake Biwa in Shiga Prefecture, and is an area where rich nature and ancient history blend together. The symbol of this town is Taga Taisha Shrine. This ancient shrine, which enshrines the gods Izanagi and Izanami, who created the country, is widely worshiped as a god of longevity, matchmaking, and protection from evil. Within the grounds of Taga Taisha Shrine, there is a sacred tree (Sanbonsugi), one of the largest cedars in the prefecture, and its magnificent appearance overwhelms visitors.

Taga Town is also home to the Kawachi Wind Cave, the largest limestone cave in the Kansai region. This unique climate, cool in summer and warm in winter, attracts many tourists throughout the year.
