コシアカツバメ -出会いと旅立ち- (Hirundo daurica -Encounter and Departure-)

家の前の道路で、羽ばたいても全く飛び上がることができず、地面をローリングしている小鳥と出会いました。
「怪我をしてるんだ！」
と咄嗟に思い、家から小さなケージを持ってきて、
「私の家で休んでいって良いよ」
と小鳥に声をかけてから、そっとケージに入れました。

「野鳥は診てくれない病院が多い」と聞いていたのですが、幸いにも快く受け入れてくれる獣医さんに出会い、羽の怪我を診てもらいました。
「羽は大丈夫。飛べないのは、まだ雛だからですよ」
と言われ・・・赤面しました・・・

小鳥さんがうちに来て2週間。
朝は4時半頃に起きて朝食を食べさせ、5時半頃には、小鳥さんをケージに入れて、近くの公園までお散歩に行きます。
色々な種類の鳥たちの声を聞き、大空を飛び交う姿を眺めていると、小鳥さんの表情も生き生きとしてきます。
そして、帰宅後、ケージの扉を開くと、気持ちが高揚している小鳥さんは、網戸に向かって、勢いよく飛んでいきます。

先週末、公園からの帰り道に、目の前をスッと横切ったコシアカツバメが、橋の下に入っていくのを見かけました。
「こんなところに巣があったんだ！」
と気が付き、天気の良い日を選んで、この巣の近くに小鳥さんを放すことにしました。

そして、昨日、朝4時半頃、小鳥さんに朝食をお腹いっぱいに食べてもらい、5時にケージに入った小鳥さんと一緒に家を出て、橋の下に行きました。
先日発見した巣からは、大人のコシアカツバメが忙しそうに飛んでいきます。
周囲にカラスがいないことを確認してから、ケージの扉をそっと開きました。
小鳥さんは、少しの間、ケージの入口に佇んで周囲の様子を伺っていましたが、意を決してケージから飛び出し、巣の真下の地面に降り立ちました。
すると、子供のコシアカツバメ2羽がすぐに近寄ってきて、ピチュピチュと互いに何か話した後、3羽で一緒にサッと飛んで行きました。

仲間に入れてもらえたかな
他の鳥をよく見て、色々と教えてもらうんだよ
カラスが来たら、すぐに逃げてね
餌も自分でとるんだよ
もう上手に飛べるから、大丈夫かな
仲間と一緒に大空を自由に飛んで、色々な経験をして、幸せに生きてね•••

今朝、5時過ぎに、近くの公園までお散歩に行きました。
空を見上げると、色々な鳥たちが飛んでいきます。
「小鳥さんは大丈夫かな、家族と再会できたかな」
そんなことを考えながら信号待ちをしていたら、1羽のコシアカツバメが道路の向こうからスーッと飛んできて、私の周りをクルリと一周回って戻って行きました。
『ありがとう、大丈夫だよ』
そう言われた気がしました。

On the road in front of my house, I met a small bird that was rolling on the ground, unable to flap its wings or fly up at all.
“The little bird is hurt!"
 I thought quickly, brought a small cage from home, and after saying to the little bird, “You can go rest at my house,” I gently put it in the cage.

I had heard that “many hospitals won't see wild birds,” but fortunately I found a veterinarian who was willing to take us in and examine the little bird’s feather injury.
“The wings are fine. The reason the little bird can't fly is because it is a still chick."
When I was said that... I was embarrassed.

It has been two weeks since the little bird came to my house.
In the morning, I get up around 4:30 a.m. to feed the little bird for breakfast, and around 5:30 a.m., I put the little bird in the cage and go for a walk to a nearby park.
Hearing the voices of various types of birds and watching them fly across the sky, the little bird’s expression comes alive.
Then, upon returning home, when the cage door is opened, the little bird, feeling elated, flies vigorously toward the screen window.

Last weekend, on my way home from the park, I saw a  Hirundo daurica swoop across in front of me and went under the bridge.
“There's a nest here!”
I decided to pick a nice day and release the little bird near this nest.

Then, yesterday morning around 4:30 a.m., I gave the little bird a full breakfast, and at 5:00 a.m. I left the house with the little bird in the cage and went under the bridge.
An adult Hirundo daurica is busily flying from the nest.
After making sure there were no crows around, I gently opened the cage door.
The little bird stood at the entrance of the cage for a few moments, taking in its surroundings, but then, with a determined effort, it flew out of the cage and landed on the ground directly below the nest.
Then, two child Hirundo daurica quickly approached, and after talking something to each other, the three little birds quickly flew away together.

I hope … the little bird met some good friends.
Take a good look at the other birds and learn a lot from them.
If a crow comes, run away immediately.
Take your own food.
You can fly well now.
Fly freely in the sky with your friends, experience many things, and live happily!

This morning, a little after 5:00 a.m., I went for a walk to a nearby park.
Looking up at the sky, I saw a variety of birds flying by.
I hope the little bird is okay and has been reunited with its family.
As I was thinking about this while waiting at a traffic light, a Hirundo daurica flew in from across the road and circled around me, then flew back.
“Thank you, I'm fine.”
I felt like I was told so.
