048 英語のクラスで発表したスピーチ原稿を公開

ひとつ前のnoteの補足として。

留学中に使っていたnaverのメールアカウントをいろいろ掘り起こしていたら、英語のクラスでしたスピーチの原稿が出てきた。

韓国の大学の英語のクラスでこんなことをやったよ！という実例なので、スピーチ原稿貼っておきます。

Good afternoon everyone. I’m ●●● My major is ●●●.
Today I’ll introduce about my favorite American drama the title is ‘The O.C.’ Have you ever seen it? I’d watched it during last winter vacation. I slept only 3 hours a day, all the time I sit in front of the computer and watched it as a buff.
It’s so interesting drama for it made me laugh and cry. So if you didn’t watch it, you should watch it and it would be fun. I’ve considered so much how to tell you how amazing 'The O.C.' is. Today, I show you three points making this drama interesting.

At the first, there are variable people in this drama. They have different characters, serious past memories and backgrounds each other. You may find the character similar with you if you watch it and you’ll sympathize with him or her.
In addition to characters on The O.C., there are many famous actors. For example, a Mischa Barton as a Marissa. We can see her face on the fashion magazine and sometimes on the gossip. Because of The O.C., she became a big star in America and now she is the one of the famous person people have interested in. She is now drawing attention as the most influential trendsetter of the new era. Next is Rachel Bilson. She appears as Summer Marissa's close friend. Have you ever watched movie 'Jumper'? If you watched Jumper you might know her face. It is the movie that she is a heroine. Like this you can watch famous actresses on the O.C.

The second is their fashion. This is the drama about high school students in the Orange County. Orange County is the one of counties in south of California. They are little rich students. So they show us American trend fashion. Especially I’d love Marissa’s fashion. She usually puts short pants and t-shirt. It’s simple style but it makes her fashionable. You can enjoy seeing their fashion.

Last one is watching this drama is effective in studying English. I watch this with Korean subtitle so that I understood in Korean all. But sometimes I could hear and understand what they were saying in English. Through watching this drama, I’ve been improving my English listening skill. And I learned how to Americans speaking English in daily life. For example, When someone died in the episode and people heard the bad news, they say ‘I’m so sorry.’ Before watching this, I knew ‘I’m sorry’ is used to when I apologize to someone so I wondered why they apologized. Not only someone’s death, whenever bad thing happened every time, they said ‘I’m sorry.’ So I noticed ‘when bad thing happened to other people, they say ‘I’m sorry’ and it means ‘That’s too bad’. You can learn English like this way.

Well, now do you wanna watch the O.C.? through the my introduction. It will be fun while watching this drama. See what American girls’ fashion trend is and study English easily. Thank you for listening.

私が通っていた韓国の大学には、必須科目に「英語Ⅰ」と「英語Ⅱ」があった。授業はすべて英語で進められる。先生が話すのもすべて英語、テキストもすべて英語、テストや課題もすべて英語。

今回公開するのは、「英語Ⅰ」の短いプレゼン原稿。2年生の前期に受講したクラスだ。

とても緊張した記憶が鮮明に残っていて、このプレゼンのことはよく覚えている。

テーマは忘れたけど、受講している学生みんなが、英語で短いスピーチをしなければいけなかった。確か、簡単にパワーポイントのスライドも作った気がする。

私のスピーチは、当時韓国の大学生の間で流行っていたアメリカドラマ「the O.C.」を紹介する内容。スピーチ内容は自分で決めた。

大学1年・2年の頃に寝る間も惜しんで見続けるほど、本当にはまったドラマ。実はコロナ自粛期間中に懐かしくなってシーズン1とシーズン2を全部見た。

このドラマのおもしろポイントを3つ紹介する、というA4で1枚とちょっとの短いスピーチだった。

英語は今でもよく分からないけど、原稿見てて「頑張って書いたな」と思った。

当時周りには帰国子女の友達とか、ネイティブの友達がたくさんいたので、きっと私が拙い英語で一度原稿を書いて、英語が得意な子に修正してもらったはず。全部私の実力ではないです。苦笑

また学部留学中のレポートとか見つかったら、できる範囲で紹介したいと思います。
