A Place to Master Sales and Pursue My Life Goals

Today, we speak with Ryota Kanehara, the Field Sales (FS) Director. We’ll discuss his encounter with amptalk, his thoughts on the job, and what makes it interesting.

Joined amptalk to Achieve the Life Goal of a "Society with Equal Opportunities"

Q.What led you to encounter amptalk?
I received a direct message from Inose-san on LinkedIn. Normally, I wouldn't consider such offers from recruiters or headhunters, but I happened to have a casual meeting with a colleague from my first job who had spoken highly of Inose-san. This made me feel a strong connection, so I decided to take the interview.

Q.What made you decide to join amptalk?
I've worked at five companies so far, and my consistent career goal has been to create a world where everyone has equal opportunities to challenge themselves. For example, when it comes to higher education, economic or informational barriers can prevent people from even considering it. I've had similar experiences and deeply regretted missing out on opportunities. I was drawn to amptalk's vision of eliminating these opportunity losses through technology.

I want to make people's skills visible, regardless of their environment, so everyone can expand their choices. In my previous career, I provided services to startups to visualize individual skills, but it didn't always work out. Through in-depth discussions with Inose-san, I felt that amptalk's product could make the invisible sales know-how visible and analyze it to enhance individual skills.

Additionally, I was attracted to the challenge of contributing to the company's growth as a key player in an early startup environment, which led me to join amptalk.

Mastering Sales Through Well-Organized Frameworks

Q.What do you find attractive in FS at amptalk?
FS is interesting as we can have long conversations with customers and deepen relationships. Especially at amptalk, due to the nature of our product, our role involves listening to a wide range of customer sales issues, which deepens our own knowledge. We use common frameworks like SPIN to create the best sales patterns by visualizing the proportions of different topics in the sales meetings. Combining frameworks with technologies like AI allows for quantitative analysis, making the PDCA cycle easier to implement and strengthening our approach.

Diverse Talents Lifting the Organization

Q.How do you find the culture in amptalk?
Regardless of tenure or age, amptalk fosters a culture of logical discussions based on facts and numbers. Decisions are made through debate rather than individual discretion. Employees from various backgrounds bring their knowledge to amptalk, leading to logical yet unique decision-making. It's a place where you can challenge anything if you think and act independently, which aligns with our Mission, Vision, and Values (MVV).

Changed to See the Joy on People's Faces

Q.What is important to you in working as the manager of FS?
I value a culture where achievements are properly recognized and celebrated. I ensure that even small, often invisible accomplishments are acknowledged and congratulated. I share successes with the entire team on Slack to foster a sense of collective achievement. Once, I even created an original song using ChatGPT to celebrate a team member’s success (laughs).

To be honest, originally, I wasn't the type to praise others actively. In my previous jobs, I was a numbers-driven, logical salesperson. My turning point was meeting the CEO at my second company, who regularly expressed gratitude to employees and engaged in "compliment communication." Seeing the joy it brought to colleagues made me realize the value of this practice. I started taking an interest in people, looking for ways to make them happy, and enjoying the process of expanding my ways of complimenting others.

Q.What kind of people do you want to work with?
Regardless of their role, people who want to accelerate their personal growth, amptalk should be the best fit for those people. Although it can be daunting to challenge unknown areas, it's often better to try things that can contribute to your growth. At amptalk, there's a high level of psychological safety, and colleagues support each other, making it easier to take on challenges even without prior experience.

We’re Hiring!

This time, we spoke with Ryota, the FS Director. How did you find it? Ryota is known as 'Pick' within the company. Though he is now known for his calm demeanor, he used to be a sharp, logical type who would corner his team members with reasoning. That's why he got the nickname 'Ice Pick' at his previous workplace. (laughs) If you’re even slightly interested in amptalk, please apply for a casual call. We look forward to meeting you!
