I went to the "STARS Exhibition" held at the Mori Art Museum in Roppongi Hills! What are the highlights, congestion, admission restrictions, and required time?

I had a business trip to Tokyo for the first time in a long time, so I stayed overnight and took a break the next day to visit museums. The National Museum of Western Art, which was my first choice, gave up because I couldn't get a ticket at all because of the advance reservation method. I visited the Mori Art Museum at the same time as it opened because there was a ticket for the day.

When I thought that there were a lot of young women near the ticket sales booth, I was convinced that Arashi's Ohno-kun's exhibition was being held on the same floor. I wasn't interested in Ohno-kun, but I watched only the planned "STARS Exhibition: Stars of Contemporary Art from Japan to the World" because the schedule was decided after the audience was interested.

This exhibition is a collection of works by six contemporary art star members, Takashi Murakami, Lee Ufan, Yayoi Kusama, Yoshitomo Nara, Tatsuo Miyajima, and Hiroshi Sugimoto. Early works and recent works are lined up, and you can enjoy the contrast in a fun way. All the works of artists who are proud of Japan and are accepted in the world are wonderful.

The start is from Takashi Murakami's work. The famous Ko2 will welcome you.

The large A-un and A-un statues are a masterpiece, including facial expressions and expressions of body muscles.

In addition, male and female dolls that were likely to get caught in the broadcast code were exhibited on TV. I won't dare to explain it ... Takashi Murakami's work has many women with big breasts, but this time it's even better. The contrast between the pop floral pattern on the wall and the work is also a sight to see.

The next booth is the work of Lee Ufan. The floor is lined with white pebbles hardened with solvent. Works like contemporary art, such as works with stones on cracked glass and combinations of iron rods and stones, were arranged.

The third booth is Yayoi Kusama, a great figure. There are no famous polka dots or pumpkin works, only works that I see for the first time. All of them are unique and interesting works that are likely to activate the brain. Although it was prohibited to take pictures, there is an installation using a mirror, and if you remove the small soil, it will change to various patterns of your face and LED lights, and it will develop like a kaleidoscope. This is a must-see so don't miss it.

The fourth is the work of Tatsuo Miyajima. Famous for his works using LED digital numbers. The numbers of the LEDs studded like stars change every moment, and when it reaches zero, it blacks out and disappears, so it blinks and has a very fantastic atmosphere. I saw Miyajima's work somewhere before, but was it Naoshima ... I'm not sure of my memory.

All of the other works have digital numbers that change as well, but the IC chips are also fascinating.

The fifth is Yoshitomo Nara. Previously, I had a solo exhibition at the Toyota Municipal Museum of Art, and some of the works I saw at that time were lined up. The model of the house, which was made a little smaller than it actually is, is also in the Toyota Municipal Museum of Art and is clearly memorable. The cute work of Yoshitomo Nara is quite a type, and one of the writers who wants to decorate the work in the room if there is enough money. It's too expensive to buy now ...

The last is Hiroshi Sugimoto. Not limited to photography and contemporary art, he is familiar with antique art, architecture, landscaping, and traditional performing arts. Including the first work in the diorama series, "Polar Bear," the photographs and videos taken were projected on a large screen. A meteorite was on display in front of the screen.

Hiroshi Sugimoto's video is about 30 minutes long, so it will take some time to finish watching it. The number of works exhibited in the entire venue is not so large, but if you watch it carefully, you can enjoy it in about 120 minutes, and if you watch it while flowing lightly and skip the last video, you can enjoy it in 40 minutes.

The highlight is probably Takashi Murakami's Aun statue. Although it is a completely different type from the Buddha statues of Unkei and Kaikei, it was overwhelmingly powerful.

There are no particular restrictions on admission, and you should definitely be able to enter immediately after the opening on weekdays. It is quite crowded on Saturdays and Sundays, so it is recommended to purchase an admission ticket in advance.

Purchase clear files, tin badges, pin badges, etc. at the product sales booth. I also wanted a pin badge from Yoshitomo Nara, but I gave it up because it was over 2,000 yen. This price is too high for a pin badge and I can't afford it. Still, there may be fans who buy it.

The admission fee is 2,000 yen, which is a little higher than other museums, but it is well worth the content. From the content, it may be rather cheap. The Mori Art Museum and Mori Arts Center Gallery are holding wonderful exhibitions such as "Chiharu Shiota Exhibition: The Soul Shakes", "Leandro Erlich Exhibition: Reality of Seeing", and "Basquiat Exhibition" that I saw before.

Art appreciation not only activates the brain and becomes a culture, but also helps to improve the sense of composition of photographs by watching paintings and sculptures. It's a good thing, so please visit various museums. I envy the people of Tokyo when it comes to viewing museums.
