舞妓さん、芸妓さんに対するパパラッチを体験

今日は舞妓さんツアーのあと、舞妓さんの置屋さんまでゲストと一緒にお見送りして行ったのですが、置屋さんの向かい側に30人くらいの海外観光客が一斉に写真を向けて待っていたー！これは怖い💦
私も撮られたー😓

この団体客のガイドさんがいたならお伝えしたい。

舞妓さんが見たいのなら、写真を撮りたいのなら集団で路上で待っているのではなくて、お金を払って夕食会場や、宿泊先のホテルに来ていただいて舞を踊っていただいたらいかがでしょうか？もしくは4/1からは「京おどり」や「都をどり」もあります。

特にそんな大人数で狭い道で待ってたら、それはやっぱりさすがに迷惑です。

舞妓さん、芸妓さんに対するパパラッチ問題はパンデミック前から問題になっていて、インバウンドが戻ったことによりまた同じことにならないように、何らか対策をとらないといけないと思うんですよね。

いま少し調べても、明確なお願いは見つからなかったのですが。

なぜ舞妓さん、芸妓さんの写真をとるべきじゃないかの理由を、

私が知っている範囲で書いてみます。

◆そもそも、普通に考えて知らない人がいきなりカメラのレンズを向けてパシャパシャ撮り始めるのは、誰だっていい気持ちはしない。

◆舞妓さんは置屋さんを出たところからゲストが費用をお支払いしている。白塗りのお化粧と、豪華な着物とおこぼを履いている舞妓さんに路上で会った場合、その時間はすでにこれから会うお客さんが費用を負担している。だから基本的には路上で歩く舞妓さんを呼び止めたり、歩行を邪魔したりしてはいけないし、追いかけたりもしてはいけない。

◆それに関しては、残念ながら私が見たことがあるのも聞いたことがあるのも一番酷かったのは中国からの観光客。舞妓さんの歩いていく先を妨害したり、触ったり、、、書くのをためらうほど。

◆特に舞妓さんお客さんが一緒に歩いている場合、カメラを向けるべきではない。プライバシーの問題。

だから、私がゲストに「舞妓さんを撮影していいの？」と聞かれた時はこう答えている。

「一番おすすめは舞妓さんが通り過ぎた後、後ろ姿は綺麗だし前からより嫌がられない。どうしてもと言う時はかなり離れたところから。とくにお客さんと一緒のときはプライバシーの問題があるから、撮ってはいけない。」

そう伝えていますが、どうでしょうか。

五花街合同で、このへんのことについて共通の声明を出してもらえると明確かなと思ったりします。

I experienced paparazzi for a Maiko-san.

After my "Meeting Maiko-san" Airbnb experience, my guests and I send her off to her Okiya, agency.

Then around thirty of international tourists were waited in front of Okiya then facing camera to our Maiko-san. Since I was walking with her. They might took photos of me too....I'm not happy about that.

Paparazzi for Maiko-san is a big issues in Kyoto.

It was said before the pandemic.

If they have a big group of people, I highly reccommend them to pay money and invite Maiko-san to their dinner place and ask her to show her dance performance, or from April 1st, "Kyo-odori" or "Miyako-odori" show starts. Tour guide can reccomend the shows. Not waiting on small local street.

I write some reasons why we should not take photos of Maiko-san, expecially from very close distance.

◆First of all, no one wants to be taken their photos without asking permission. They're not mascot, they're proud entertainer.

◆Just after they left Okiya-san agent house, Maiko-san's time's fee are paid by guests she'll meet. It means you can't stop her, or talk to her on the street because they're heading to their workplace , to the guests.

◆Worst cases I've seen or heard, are I'm sorry to say but tourists from China. I saw they block Maiko-san's way, or touch her kimono, and I heard more worst cases...please don't do that. Please don't block her way, please don't touch her, please be respect our culture.

◆Especially Maiko-san walking with guests, people should not take photos, it's a privacy issue.

So when I was asked "May I take photo of Maiko-san walking on the streets?"

I answer "My recommendation is after we see her pass by, you can take photo from back side. It's beautiful." "If you can't help it, you might can do from a distance". "Especially when they're walking with guests, you shouldn't take photos, it's a privacy issue."

I think we need clear explanation about that.

To keep this beautiful elegant tradition, we want tourists to understand their culture. Otherwise they got scared. Please don't make them scared, tourists.

If you want to take photos of them, please book meeting Maiko-san experiences, or dinners. I myself have my own Airbnb experience to meet Maiko-san, some dinner place or hotels have their own experiences or shows.

So don't do paparazzi. Please book Maiko-san's experiences or shows.
