◆Bruce Hornsby and the Range
アメリカ・バージニア州ウィリアムズバーグ出身のピアノ・アコーディオン奏者およびシンガーソングライターであるBruce HornsbyとHuey Lewisによって1984年に結成されたロック・グループ。
◆The Way It Isについて
彼らの2ndシングルとして1986年にリリースされた。公民権運動と根強い人種差別の一面を描き出した同曲は1986年のアメリカ音楽チャートでトップに立ち、その後は2Pacなど、6組以上のラップ・アーティストにサンプリングされている。このシングルの世界的な成功を受けて、アルバム『ザ・ウェイ・イット・イズ』はマルチプラチナアルバムとなった。
