花より団子？Balancing Satoyama Environment

五月晴れの日。自転車に乗っていると田畑のふちにある可憐な草花に心浮き立つことがあります。ところが翌週同じことろに行くと、草花はすっかり刈り取られてなくなっています。
田畑を耕し、農作業をする側に立つと、それら雑草は作物を侵害する迷惑な存在であることがわかります。
夏にはこうして大切に育てられた地元の新鮮野菜をいただくのです。
Riding through the countryside in Yatsugatake area, we often see nice little flowers along side of the farms. I enjoy their fragile looks. In a week after, we ride the same place and find all the flowers and plants have been cut down and cleared. 
I realize that those plants and even the fragile looking flowers are aggresive invaders for the farms. To protect the crop plants, they are not to be appreciated but to be gotten rid of. 
I get slightly mixed feeling about losing the dlower view, but I also feel excited about the fresh vegitables and fruits we get from the farms. Much respect to daily efforts in keeping this satoyama environmet alive.
