are YOU free from what the society around expects you to be?

especially as a man, or a woman.

have YOU redefined yourself,

have YOU ever doubted your 'atarimae', that is, notion of what is normal and what is abnormal?

including things like religion, culture, whether to eat fair breakfast or not---

have YOU ever used your brain to rethink,

how you oughta be?

as a girl, as a student, as a mother, as a woman.

vise versa;

are not YOU

forecasting your ideals on your candidate partner

and try tying him/her up with them,

and if not get disappointed and blame him/her?

and am not I

try to act upon it,

just because serving others' needs was what I thought was expected to me?

i always need MYSELF to be stronger, and smiling to me myself

rather than to the limited world you might be seeing right now.

I have always liked those middle-gendered characters/ figures in cartoons or dramas, or I always find it easy to share meaningful time chatting with my gay friends. I was wondering why, and just felt like I had found one answer when I met the word 'enlightened', which means having a progressive way of thinking regardless of what the social trends demand an individual to be. Having doubted the senses of value which is dominant in where they are grew up, they are quite flexible and often receptive in others' way of thinking, which makes it comfortable for me to sit with. Those who have cross-cultural experience especially as the minor-er counterpart are often accepting in difference. 

     Here, I am finding I am still one of those who have un-free way of seeing things. It was just last night when I realized myself to have been sticking to one 'how a lady-should-behave' type of belief and awfully shocked. I have learnt in my Pedagogy class that everyone is a brought-up racist, and what is important is whether we are willing to REALIZE it or not; also, whether education can bring the opportunity to RETHINK our common sense. We can alter 'media' with 'education here, I suppose. 

    After all, all of us are in the course of seeking

-what is really comfortable for ourselves

-how to express it in our daily life including speech, living, work

-who to share the joy and grief along the journey.

May all of us humankind's voyage be more and more pleasant !
