1.  Queen Elizabeth has tested positive for COVID 19.  Buckingham Palace says she is experiencing mild cold-like symptoms but does expects to continue what it called light duties. 

エリザベス女王がCOVID19の陽性反応を示しました。バッキンガム宮殿によると、彼女は軽い風邪のような症状が出ていますが、軽い仕事を続けられる見込みだということです。 

 2.  President Putin has spoken by phone to his French counterpart in what   France called part of a last-ditched effort （最後の＜土壇場の＞努力）to defuse（取り除く、鎮める、和らげる） the crisis in Ukraine.  It has Boris Johnson has warned that the U.S and U.K would stop Russian companies trading in pounds and dollars if there was an invasion. 

フランスは、ウクライナの危機を鎮めるための最後の努力の一環であるとし、ボリス・ジョンソンは、もし侵略があれば、米国と英国はロシア企業のポンドとドルでの取引を停止すると警告しています。

3. Belarus says it's extending joint military exercises with Russian forces because of tensions in Ukraine.  About 30,000 Russian soldiers were due to （～する予定である）leave Belarus after completing drills. 

ベラルーシは、ウクライナでの緊張のため、ロシア軍との合同軍事演習を延長すると発表しました。約3万人のロシア兵が訓練を終えてベラルーシを離れる予定でした。  

4.  The winter Olympics closing ceremony is underway in Beijing. It's taking place in the Bird's Nest stadium and we'll see the handing of the Olympic torch to the 2026 hosts Italy.

北京では冬季オリンピックの閉会式が行われています。鳥の巣スタジアムで行われており、2026年開催国のイタリアに聖火が手渡されるのが見ものです。
