1.  A diplomatic push to avoid war in Ukraine is taking place.  President Biden has agreed to hold a summit with Vladimir Putin to discuss the crisis in Ukraine but only if Russia does not invade its neighbor.

2.  Australia has opened up to fully vaccinated Travellers for the first time
in almost two years.  There were tearful reunions （再会）at Sydney airport as hundreds of people began arriving on flights.  More than 50 international flights are due in on Monday.

3.  New York city is grappling with a wave of gun violence with police officers
civilians even young babies killed in the crimes.  Since the start of the year
gun crime is up by a third compared to 2021.

4.  Queen Elizabeth is due to carry out light duties this week after testing
positive for COVID.   Buckingham palace says she's experiencing mild cold-like
symptoms.  The news came days after the Queen marked 70 years since her
accession  to the throne（即位する）.
